With Learn Words creating word lists is incredibly fast and easy.

Easy import – Learn Words makes importing words a breeze! You can take a photo of the words you want to add—whether it is a page of a text book, a magazine, or a menu—and the app will recognize them as text. You can speak words, type words, or you can select words from predefined word lists.

Easy word enrichment – Learn Words can automatically add translations, images and example sentences (also with translations) to your words—which makes it extremely easy to supplement your word list with the practice material you need.

Learn – Learn words with a scientifically proven memorization technique that keeps offering items until your words are completely memorized. Or use rehearsal mode to let the app quickly determine which words you know, and which ones you don’t.

Exercise – Setup your own exercises. You’ll be able to access a speaking exercise, a listening exercise, an image recognition exercise, writing and multiple choice exercises. All are configurable to your needs, but have simple defaults to get you started just as soon as you add words.

Play – Tired of doing exercises, then why not play one of the fun word games, such as crosswords or word searches? All games are generated specifically for your content.

Track your results – Track your progress and see how many words you learn over time.

And that is not all! You can access your word list offline, so it’s easy to practice any time. The app also has many additional features such as exporting your word list to pdf, speech output for all words and sentences, and the possibility to synchronize your word list through the Linguineo® servers to all your devices. If you create a Linguineo® account, you can also collect more than 100 badges for reaching various milestones.

Versatile Language Learning Tool

I am a school teacher and also a language tutor. I have been searching for an app which can supplement my weekly language lessons. Learn Words! is a feature-rich app that uses innovative technologies (including image recognition) to make language learning fun, quick and effective. If you can use a smart phone, you can easily navigate the app. While I have not tested the app on younger students, I believe children as young as 10 may be able to use this app.

In preparing a lesson plan, I first add a list of new words for students to study. The words can be selected at random or specifically on a topic of interest. I can even take a pic and the app recognizes all the words contained in the pic. The app (with a simple step) adds translation, definition, and pronunciation automatically to each word on the list. I can add images to the words with a few extra steps. My students then study the words for a week prior to our next lesson. Their progress is recorded on their profile and I am able to quickly view their word retention rate. This tool is particularly useful in determining how prepared they are for their upcoming lesson and if I need to adjust the curriculum.

In the past, my students struggled to maintain their knowledge between lessons. This app nicely fills the gap between lessons and aids their learning at steady pace. I highly recommend this app as a supplemental tool for any foreign language education.

Great for both teachers and students

This app is an extremely useful tool for language teachers. User friendly and easily navigable, it allows teachers to save a ton of time on lesson planning in a condensed and eco-friendly way. Teachers can add and share their own word lists and notes or choose from the pre-made lists available. The lists can then be shared with students quickly and easily, allowing them to complete their work from anywhere by using their phones. The platform has a variety of tasks and games to keep the student engaged, and the results can be tracked and sent to the teacher very easily. I highly recommend this app for both teachers and students who want to learn and practice a language in a convenient manner.

Great app for teaching and learning language

This app is so useful to me as a teacher because it helps me create study aids for my students. It is easy to share the word lists I create with students. I also like that i can add customized vocabulary and that the student tasks are engaging for my students.

I can also see using this app for myself when learning another language, especially the feature where you can take a picture of a page and create word lists from it.
