Touch ID Support and Portfolio Access
I love being able to see a quick snapshot of my lending club account but there are a few things you don’t have access to on here which still drives me to the website. The main one is access to your portfolios and being able to assign notes to a certain portfolio. Also the site allows for better filters if you want to look through your current notes you’ve invested in.
I’ve also been having issues with TouchID support on this app. I have another device where it works fine but on my main device I use to check in on lending club I always get a TouchID error.
Once this app fixes the Touch ID and allows you to do everything you can on the site I’ll likely give it the 5 stars it should be at.
Awful App, Terrible Platform
Great Concept, awful execution. The App is clunky and has minimal function which becomes a problem when you discover the ability to resell notes on the secondary market can’t be done except at a desktop computer. Reselling notes is something that you’ll need to do a LOT with these guys as they’re likely the worst in the business as screening their fund seekers. Most notes, at a 1 : 4 clip I’d say, end up in default. And unlike Prosper and many other platforms (most of which rarely default, I’ve had 2 defaults with Prosper over the same timeframe that has seen over 50 in Lending Club with the same allocations model), LC doesn’t share collected funds, at least not at a clip that can justify your $25-50 loss on the note. Seriously taking $0.18 return on collections for a note that never paid a single bill. My guess is that they collect a ton in collections and never payout and that’s where their business really is. Save your month from this sticky fingered platform.
Returns and App review
I have been using lending club for over 5 years. The system is an excellent long term investment if you do it right. The app needs some work to make it easier to invest in notes. Currently it is great to just check your value but not good for buying notes. This is because the computer allows you to select a tab that excludes notes already invested in but the app does not. So if you only buy notes using the app you will be investing in the same notes over and over. Also there seems to be a bug lately that does not allow me to see my notes on the app. Over all the investment is great but I mostly use the computer to invest and use the app for checking my value .
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
