● Five separate areas, each with unique art and music tracks
● Tons of upgrades, books, potions, special items and weapons to help you on your journey
● Over 30 monsters to fight
● Boss monsters with unique abilities
● 70 quests to complete
● Leaderboards - compete with your friends
● 50 Game Center achievements
Finding the game too difficult? Make sure to check out the upgrades store, especially the first 3 upgrade types - they increase your max health, increase the damage you do by spelling words, and decrease the amount of damage you take from monsters. Some players have been saying the game is too hard by around stage 10-15, but hadn't purchased a single upgrade! So please visit the upgrades shop every once in a while to give Grimm and Rose a fighting chance!

Cute game where you fight monsters using words you create from a selection of 15 letters. As you progress, the difficulty increases, with certain monsters having restrictions on the words that cause damage (eg. they only take damage from words including the letter ‘t’), and with various tiles giving bonuses or penalties if used. In addition, there are lots of quests to complete (which will reward gems), and other achievements to achieve along the way. There are also lots of ways to customise your playstyle, with upgradeable books that give certain bonuses (eg. for words of 6+ letters), and with special upgrades that do things like tell you the damage of your word in advance. For a very reasonable price you can remove the adverts and unlock all content (you only need to pay once to get all the characters, weapons and tile sets - this is a little confusingly marked in-game). You can also, optionally, pay to double the gems you earn.Once unlocked, the different characters have slightly different stats, and the upgradeable weapons can give you further bonuses (eg. by making your consumable healing potions more effective).Although it is loosely story-based and so you can ‘beat’ the game, there are still things to do once you have (for example, collecting the harder red stars to unlock a hidden end-game area).I own this game on Steam, and am excited to now also have it on my tablet. It is just as fun as I remember - and slightly more convenient to play on a touch-screen device.
Favorite Game - Yet So Disappointed....

I love everything about this game! I have played it on and off for over 7 years now. There is only one major complaint and that is when you get to level 30...well that’s it. I mean come on! It’s a word game in which the player chooses letters from a board of random letter tiles and you are telling me 30 levels was all the developers could muster? Games like these should theoretically be capable of continuing indefinitely - or at least past level 30!!! - because they are the simplest, most cut and dry, with infinite answer possibilities, etc. SO DISAPPOINTED because I loved what little game content there is.
Adorable!

This game was much cuter than I expected. I generally hate "Freemium" games but this one got it right. When you fail a level, you just retry it-- there's no wait period to recharge or generate game currency to restart the level. You can repeat it over and over, and only spend whatever power ups you want at each round. I got pretty far along without paying any money, but it was just so darn cute, and really fun, I paid for the gem doubler, which ended up leveling up my little reaper really quickly, and the rest of the game flew by. I only wish there were more levels! I can't believe how quick I flew through the game, but actually spent a lot of time playing while under the weather, and it was worth every penny. I want to delete the game now to free up space but I'm going to hang onto it for a bit first and make sure no updates are coming along. (Hint, hint, please.)
Excellent Word/RPG

I found this little game to be a ton of fun. After trying it out for a bit I did pay the couple bucks for the premium version. Totally worth it, even for the ad removal, plus you get extra content. I have not found it to be hard to earn gems enough to buy items without spending further money, but I suspect that may also depend on how good you are at spelling/vocabulary and utilizing bonuses. For me, a great find. Love it!
