many of the people writing reviews have no idea what free speech is
the title says it all. the top reviewer never even downloaded the app? i typically identify as liberal and i've seen a lot of stuff on here that's highly offensive to my ideology, and that's the beauty of the app. i'm honestly tired of people pretending the whole world is an extension of their bubble. On Librex, people say what they believe with their chest and people who disagree are quick to educate or downvote. It allows us to actually see what people truly believe, and its actually much easier to identify troll posts or bait than other reviewers think. Most importantly, there's no search feature, so people can leave controversial posts in the past. This is a simple app, HIGHLY effective for interacting with other ivy students, and if you don't like it just don't download it.
A raw unfiltered look at what’s on college students’ minds
Like it or hate it, Librex is a special kind of community where you can really honestly see what people at your school think. Personally, I find it great to vent about all the issues at Dartmouth (and there’s a lot) and it’s nice knowing I’m not alone in feeling frustrated.
Add Usernames, At The Least
This app is seemingly designed to attract some of the worst kind of discussion, from targeted bullying to things that could be considered hate speech. The completely anonymous nature of the app means that users can post anything without being at all attached to what they say, encouraging this toxic environment while denying others the ability to know who is sharing these views, may be pertinent for them to know in some situations. Overall the design of the app fosters an extremely toxic environment and puts on display the worst parts of our school communities. In future updates I recommend at the least adding usernames, but I frankly do not see the need for this Yik-Yak do-over attempt to exist.
