Depending on your device, if playing on iphone (possibly ipad as well) there are limited options to puzzles. On computer there a wider variety of free practice. The thing i do not understand is the score. Why does it take away so many points if i lose? it makes sense of course to take points out of a score when losing. But if its a draw one person (your opponent)
will get the extra points which could be within 13-25 points. That can really affect your score. I think that the points can mess up a game a little bit because Lichess pairs up players with similar scores. Most people have a good score just because of a draw or someone resigned. So this score difference may lose to someone losing a gams. Overall I think that this is a good app. The scores can confuse me (personally) But it has helped me with my chess skills and has fun, educational, useful lessons/ practice features.

I love this app a lot. Never really had any major problems until now. This is the only reason I’m writing this review in the first place. When you create a position that is illegal in normal chess, it lets you use the position in analysis and offline and online games and it works fine, until you try to load the engine if you use analysis. Upon attempting to load Stockfish by clicking on the engine tab, it attempts to load the engine, but a second later, the app crashes, sending you back to the home screen of your iPhone or iPad device. An easy way to replicate the bug is: go to the board editor, load the standard chess starting position, place an extra piece anywhere, such as an extra pawn, go to analysis, see that analysis mode works fine without using the engine, try to go to the computer analysis tab, and watch as the app crashes.

I love this app but I wish developers would make some kind of method where it would check to make sure the player is still engaged in the game. People will literally be losing and instead of them resigning like an decent chess player they would just let the clock time out to 0 in hopes that somewhere along that time their opponent would just quit because they become impatient in waiting for the player to make a move. My suggestion is to make a button that would send a prompt to the opponent asking them if they are still there and the opponent has a set amount of time to respond, for example 3 minutes. If they don’t respond then the game will automatically be forfeited. If they do respond then they have a set amount of time to make a move afterwards. It’s TROLLING when they have no intentions on making a move and they’re completely relying on their opponent to simply quit because they actually want to play and not willing to wait 15 minutes for the time to run out. Please make a change so the TROLLING comes to a STOP!!
