• Fully 3D Cellular Automaton:
– Place live cells on an X × Y × Z grid and watch generations evolve in three dimensions.
– Enjoy wireframe or filled‐cell views, with live cells rendered in Red, Blue, or Yellow.
• Flexible Seeding & Color Rules:
– Seed any Z‑slice via an intuitive 2D grid picker. Choose Red or Blue “parent” cells; cells born from a single‑color neighborhood keep that color, while mixed neighborhoods turn Yellow.
– Support for custom birth/survival rules so you can experiment beyond the classic B3/S23.
• Toroidal (Wrap‑Edges) & Fixed Boundary Modes:
– Toggle between infinite wrap‑around (cells exiting one face reappear on the opposite) or a fixed border.
– Classic glider‐in‐3D examples come alive in toroidal mode.
• Built‑In Patterns Library + RLE Import/Export:
– Kickstart your simulations with built‑in 3D motifs—Blocks, Gliders, Pulsars, Boats, Tubs, and more.
– Save your own creations as named “Pattern 3D” snapshots.
– Import standard RLE files (2D) and center them in a 3D grid of your chosen size.
– Export any live Z‑slice as an RLE (plain text), ready for sharing.
• Adjustable Grid & Rules on the Fly:
– Change XY dimensions and stack height in Options. If your current pattern will survive the new size, it stays intact—otherwise you’ll be prompted before clearing.
– Step through generations manually or run continuously with an adjustable interval slider.
– Pause automatically when a pattern reaches a steady state or goes extinct.
• Orthographic & Perspective Cameras:
– Smaller grids (≤ 35 × 35) use a perspective camera for an immersive view.
– Larger grids switch to an isometric orthographic projection so even huge 3D worlds look clean and unwarped.
• Video Recording & Sharing:
– Start/stop screen recording directly from the menu bar.
– After stopping, share your timelapse—complete with a custom message and App Store link—via standard macOS share sheet.
• Crop & Resize Selection:
– In Seeding mode, select a rectangular region to crop across all layers. Create a smaller grid out of a larger pattern in one click.
• Save & Organize User Patterns:
– Store custom patterns in Application Support—and they persist between sessions.
– Browse, rename, or delete saved “Pattern 3D” files using a native sidebar interface.
• Dark & Light Mode Support:
– Full compatibility with macOS appearance settings, including high‑DPI Retina and Metal rendering for smooth 3D performance.
