Description
The Lifetime Gas Grill and Pellet Smoker App lets you monitor or control your grill directly from your phone. With the intuitive design, you don’t have to be a Grill Master to use this app. Set temperatures from the comfort of your couch, or monitor your cook from just about anywhere. Make the perfect meal right from your fingertips.
Features:
- Easy to use interface: matches the controller on the grill making it easy to understand
- Monitor temperatures anytime, anywhere: monitor three different meat probes and the cooking chamber
- Monitor meat and cooking chamber temperatures even while cooking with gas
- Set temperatures using your home Wi-Fi network: while on your home network, you can set the desired smoking temperature
- Meat Control Probe (MP-C): set smoker to automatically go into warming mode once meat temperature has been reached
- Shows total cooking time
- Set and receive alerts for temperatures
- Be alerted for any status changes from the grill

Lacks important features, poor internet connectivity
This is for the app, not the grill. In short, there’s a lot of room for improvement. Connection and control via Bluetooth isn’t terrible, you can quickly control and set what you need within the otherwise rudimentary interface.
As soon as you turn to wifi though, the app has a hard time keeping and maintaining connection, and requires precision location services for poorly explained reasoning. It struggles to keep a on my WPA2 home network, and as soon as I’m off my home network connection there’s 0 connection to remotely monitor what my grill is doing. Lifetime is significantly behind their competitors here.
The overall interface is clunky and lacks responds poorly to input. The copywriting is awful and shows a major lack of polish. Multiple features in the menu are “under development” and have been for significant time. The “Instructions” page just links to the product homepage and none of the link functionality on said page works in-app.
There needs to be significant effort put into fixing this application for it to be useful, let alone competitive against other wifi-connected pellet smokers.
Needs refinement/completion
The app requests accurate location permissions and the language as to why makes no sense.
The app does not connect if you are not on the same wifi as the grill.
The app name is “Lifetime Grills Test” and some pages, like “Recent cooks” just show Under Development
Make grilling & smoking easy
Love being able to monitor my cook and adjust the temperatures from my easy chair. Lifetime’s new smoker grill is fantastic.
I was told that they are working on additional improvements to the app.
