Customize one of over 100+ lighting effects using the app's 3 unique light controllers, or create your own custom effects. MUSIC VISUALIZER: Create the ultimate music listening experience. The app listens to your music and changes the effects based on the mood of the song. Lights get active during intense parts of a song and flowy with softer melodies and magically change colors at just the right moment. Special controls for Nanoleaf allow you to control rotation and fill angle to match your Aurora or Canvas panel orientation.
BEAT-SYNCED EFFECTS: Use the Super SceneMaker controller for looping effects that sync to the beat of your music. Each of the 100+ effects can be customized with your favorite colors. Play and mix local audio tracks into your playlists and sheets or select one from Apple Music.
HUE ENTERTAINMENT: Using a Hue Entertainment area you'll enjoy higher quality effects; all of Light DJ's effects respond faster and with better sync. Send waves of color across your room with the updated Groove Wave effect, or strobe faster with the Matrix controller.
EFFECT MAKER: Create your own looping special effects with our powerful Effects Maker. Share your custom-made effects & sheets using AirDrop.
IPAD VERSION: A DJ controller-inspired design for ultimate live-performance lighting control. Configurable sheets allow you to setup your effects and colors in advance, and the push-button interface lets making rapid changes easy.
STUFF FOR DJs: Precision tempo controls allows you to sync the lights with your set. Optional automatic beat detection using your device's built-in microphone. Also supports Ableton Link and MIDI Clock Sync for syncing tempo across devices, and MIDI Program Change or Control Change codes for controlling effects.
Light DJ offers monthly and yearly subscription options. Each subscription includes:

Terms of Use: Subscription includes full access to the app including cloud backup & sync, periodic feature updates, and new light hardware support. Each month through April 2023 two new Bonus Effects will be added to the app for lighting systems at the discretion of the developer, based on technical capabilities of the hardware and user feedback. Bonus Effects are hardware-specific and will only work with the lighting hardware associated with that effect. Bonus Effects are currently being created for Philips Hue Entertainment & Nanoleaf Light Panels.

Loved it while it lasted!
Tons of fun to use and really pushes the limits of what can be done. At first it was a little intimidating to figure out but you eventually get the hang of it from toying around. There are plenty of options to choose from and you can even formulate your own patterns if you want. Personally I liked the sound reactive choice as a set and forget option. It is subscription based and the price is justifiable (and recommended) if you have a good amount of smart bulbs. If you’re just getting started then you’ll find yourself more hesitant to spend $50 a year. I’ll be passing on the subscription myself since I only have 3 lights and it just wouldn’t make sense for me to spend that much on that little, bit try the trial and see for yourself!
Great app. A great capability was removed recently.
It has been great with my Hue lights and Nanoleaf. The latest update removed the background run, which I enjoyed a lot, because I was able to continue to use my phone, while the lights were changing. Now it a bummer I cannot even leave the app or lock the phone, otherwise the lights sequence stops... the developer mentioned that was due apple power savings, but I imagine that it uses the same amount of power when an apps run in the background, and this is done all the time in apple devices. Please bring back that setting.
Greedy
I used to use this app a lot
But now after a recent update not even the basic free ones are able to be used without a subscription. I was happy with the free ones as I'm sure everyone else was. Now if I even want to use anything I have a limited 7 day trail then my only option would be to PAY PER MONTH to use the same things I was using for free before the update. Absolutely sad. I understand the only reason to put an app on the App Store is to make money, I get that. But why take away something that was free for so long? This kind of change ends with the app loosing fans and slowly becoming forgotten. Sure one person not using the app that was free won't make a difference. But I'm just one of the unhappy people that actually took the time to write a review.

I haven’t forgot about my free users, that’s why I created Light DJ Studio. The app is completely free and the “free play” mode includes many of the free effects that were available pre-subscription. The app will be free for the foreseeable future and anyone that submits a light show to the community will get free lifetime access.
