Not great yet, but getting better

I personally only follow RLCS so bear that in mind. This app is quickly approaching the best way to follow esports, although tbh that bar has been set pretty low for rocket league at least. The updates on match scores are pretty quick which is incredible, and discovering key events is getting easier with each update. My biggest complaint is that it’s difficult to navigate to key information like bracket results or region/global rankings. Or even team stats and such which I think aren’t really viewable as is. If there were easier to get to or shown in context this would be much better.

Separate point, but the ad placement is really the worst I’ve ever seen for non-video ads. At this point I am desperate to be able to pay a one time fee or even a cheap subscription to remove them because it’s so obnoxious

Hey, thanks for the great feedback. We're updating the app at very fast pace, and I think you will like the last improvements we did. We strongly suggest updating to the newest version, as this also gets rid of the mid-page ad placement (that we also hated) and replaces it with a standard bottom ad sheet.

We are looking to introduce ad free version next year as well. :)

Early MVP

The app seems like an early MVP and suprisignly very distant from the web interface. I guess most of us are used to navigate the web interface and reach all the data we need/want and the app is now a shock where there was obviously a design decision made to go into a different direction (non wiki style) but frankly I follow Dota 2 most of the time and it’s frustrating to not see team rosters. Trying to generelize the data model for all games is hard. I wish you’d rather focus on game by game experience in-app before pushing an update.

Thank you for the much needed app and hard work that has gone in to it. I hope you can iron out the wrinkels.

Hey, thanks for your feedback.

We are indeed working on delivering an updated tournament page overview, which would include showing team rosters. Keep the app up to date, we're hoping to deliver the updates shortly before or around TI :)

Easy to read, webpage is more accessible and accurate still

(Valorant focused)
As the title says, the app is quite simple and straight forward to navigate. My primary complaint is that the events shown on liquipedia’s webpage (including VCT Ascension and other VCT tournaments) don’t show up on the app for some reason. Some events will have titles but no page. I assume these are slowly being updated as it’s nice to go back and look at old tournaments and placements to track team progress and see brackets. Prize pools are also incorrect among other things for some events that are accurate on the webpage version.

Another slight nitpick but I’ve noticed that my and some other coach/player pages have incorrect birthdays by a day when the webpage profiles are fully accurate showing that there is some sort of disconnect in the transferring of information. Once again many of the previously played or participated in tournaments for different players or teams, aren’t showing on the app when they do show on the webpage.

TLDR; the app has significant potential for purely checking recent match scores, but if you want any of the other features liquipedia offers or to see ALL current tournaments, I would say it’s still easier and quicker to use the liquipedia webpage for now.

Developer Response ,

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Wrong prize pools or incorrect data might be a bug: the app should get the exact info that the web has. Stopping by our Discord and reporting the bugs will help us catch those and fix them. Our devs are very responsive, so issues are usually fixed very quickly.

About not seeing some events like VCT Ascension, it might be because they are way too far in the future. In that case, just searching for them would be the best way to follow them. If it's something else, we'd love to look into it and improve. In any case, step by our Discord to say hi and we'll be happy to help with any and all issues. :)
