Excellent for Stock management
This is a great app for stock management.
The only thing I would change would be adding the option to add species as well as the ability to flag all of a specific category of stock and move their designated pasture at once.
I rotate pasture and when I do, I move the entire herd. The way it’s currently set I have to change each individual animal setting. That can be time consuming with several hundred head.
Currently I raise several different types of stock however there seems to only be a set of specific animals available to select.
Overall, very pleased!!!

Thanks for the feedback!
There are two ways to perform bulk movements:
First, from the dashboard, click on the action button against the pasture name and select 'Move Mob'.
Second, from the dashboard, push and hold the 'Events' button and then select 'Moved'. When you create an event this way you can use the animal searcher to select the specific animals you want to move. Also take a look at the 'Search Class' option in the animal filter, you may find that will help select the groups you're after.
As mentioned, we don't have a way for users to create species but if you email us at firstname.lastname@example.org we can add the request to the list.
Simple and robust
I love this app. I have been using it for about a month now. I am a new small farmer. The free app is definitely not lite, you can manage your herd and record keeping easily with no cost to you.
I like that this is a phone app because I usually have my phone with me and can update as I am applying treatments or moving animals rather than have to come in to the computer to update everything. There are two more levels after the free version, the first one offers some really good benefits with a small cost which I am going to try. The second tier includes a nice website and some high end functions that would be great for a larger operation professional ranch.
I like this much better than the all for one business finance tracking because it is made for farming. When you purchase an item, in your finance section, you can record a quantity or dose and as you use it in your events, that comes out of inventory. It also populated some of my abga goats pedigrees! Anytime I have had a support question I receive a quick and helpful response - thank you so much for creating this product

Thanks for the feedback! Great to hear it's working out.
This App looked great from the beginning but once I started adding animals I ran into multiple issues. When adding percentages, you cannot select the exact number. One of ours is 59% Limousin, however the only options closest to that number are either 50% or 62.5%. I’d much rather have exact information rather than an estimated percentage. Also, you cannot enter registration numbers without selecting your association and those options are very limited. Not able to select an association means no ability to enter proper registration . Lastly, you are not able to enter Sire or Dam information unless those animals are part of your “Herd” which means no genetic information of any kind and no means to manually enter EPDs. With those discrepancies, it would be much easier to stick to an Excel spreadsheet.

Sorry it didn't work out for you.
We support all breed associations who have signed on with HerdLogic, if you'd like to be able to link to your association herd data, we recommend sending them a message to join. When this is done the system will automatically display the pedigree and epd's.
The alternative is to use the reference animal option which will allow use in pedigrees and genetic inventory, but they won't clutter up your active herd.
Also note, we offer in-herd EBV's which is a better approach for replacement and sire prospect selection as it isn't impacted by the data quality issues breed associations face with cross herd evaluation.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
