Have used Living Earth for almost 15 years on 4 iPhones. It was one of the very first apps purchased for first iPhone. Its weather widget was the BEST bar none! Multiple releases of iOS and still no widget. Hope Radiant Labs have not given up on developing a compatible Weather Widget. Can’t live without its Weather Widget. The widget does NOT have to reside on the "Today" screen, being able to put it on ANY screen would be better than not having the widget at all. Again, please consider developing a new widget that displays list of Current Weather Temperature of Saved Locations.
Thanks so much for the comments and so awesome it was one of the first apps you purchased for iPhone! We hear you on the Weather Widget. iOS 18 made our older one (a Today Extension) incompatible. Feel free to shoot an email if you'd like any specific features you'd like to see in a new widget :) - moshen@radiantlabs.io.
“Living Earth” has been my go-to weather app for so many years now that I cannot remember when I downloaded it. It opens up to the beautiful and mesmerizing rotation of the Earth (I love the cloud covering overlay) and settles upon my hometown or the city of my family and friends whose weather I want to know. To me the visual display is simple with location, temp, time and date and the detailed weather with 10 day forecast a tap away. I use the 10 Day forecast to know the weather to plan my week and for packing when going to other cities.
I use this app for so many things. First as an alarm to wake up by. The Sunrise harp music wakes me with a smile and I never wake up on the wrong side of the bed.The weather app lets me check first thing in the morning so I know what to wear. Then I can tap the day to get the hour by hour forecast so I can see when it is going to start to rain or snow during the day. It also lets me pick several cities. I use this to track the weather of where I am traveling to. When I tap on the city I select it puts a dot on the globe of where that city is. It also shows where the sunrise is and the sunrise and sunset time so I can know when I have to drive in the dark in bad weather so I can leave early. It also gives me a time on when to make sure they bike back home from a friends house before dark. Them with the find my friends app I can actually watch then bike home. The different worlds is also great. I use the current temperature view to get a feel when a cold front is moving in. And last it give the name and location of all the hurricanes in the world so you can check progress if you are going out there for vacation or if you live there. I have never seen so much incredibly important info all in one place. And by the way it is always calming to just spin the world and watch the awesome view. And lastly you can share a view of anything you see that you would like to send to a friend. Just awesome!
UPDATE: Turns out they took away the hamburger clues in “Edit” mode, but if you happen to accidentally tap and hold in the exact precise correct spot, then you can still rearrange cities. I’m not psychic and hate guessing-games with apps, but at least I can still do what I need to. So up to four stars again now, but sadly, down from five.PREVIOUS REVIEW: Wow, this was such a great app. It was one of the very few apps I used every day, for years, on my old iPad. I had many, many cities. And I could rearrange them any way I wanted in “Edit”mode. Unfortunately, on my new iPad running iOS 14, I can’t rearrange my cities in a useful order. Now, I only have five or six cities because I can’t arrange them at all. They are in the order added, and that is not the order I want. I can’t use the app in a way that is meaningful unless they fix this. Here’s hoping I don’t have to update this review to say that I deleted it. Will hope for an update soon. P.S. for the developer - I made no attempt to sync the old machine with the new. I simply downloaded this app from the App Store to this new machine, and started fresh by adding a few cities. That’s how I found out that the cities are now glued to the list at the point when I added them, and cannot be rearrranged.
Well I finally came here after many times touch n remind me later and what I have to say is that I think this is a excellent weather of the Earth and for 2.99 it is worth every cent. And my reply to add n what I think might be an idea to make it better in my eyes would be if the sun and the moon were in the picture and you could use a setting and bring in the whole universe and the every planet would rotate and around the us and even see some of the things up there like the space station or satellite that are there now you could bring in what ever you wanted to do on the settings page.... I don't know how or what it took to do what they have now, but I would think the satellites up there now, but if they can put that on the screen and show what they do like the clouds, storms, and things that are go n on at the present then hire some more people and help this economy and do a lot more and they are Alot of people that went to college for years to do this kind of thing but now don't have that job and have 2 jobs just to pay bills that have enough to buy this app. So that's my review and idea and I wonder if there is somebody look n at these or is this another job for hire ????? I would even bet not and if there it probably a computer..... Snake Out.....
Nice app -great images of earth with live clouds - I travel weekly so alarm and weather information and functions are great to have and easy to access - would be five star but I noticed a slight accuracy issue with weather no big deal though works relatively well - will update rating after a few weeks of useOkay, update after a week of use: I had to knock my rating at least one star, down to three. Weather is WAY off. To be more specific, the temperature where I am at right now is hovering between 97 and 102 degrees. This is depending on what website you visit to check. Now, if Living Earth HD was within that range of temps, I could care less as long as its within 5 degrees. However, the temps on my displays (iPhone and Ipad) both read 81 degrees. Between both devices, they are consistent, but consistenly wrong. Twenty degree differences are too big to ignore. I will leave it at 3 stars strictly for the accuracy of the alarm and time function, creating a playlist from my albums feature, and the nice graphics. I will continue to use it as an alarm clock for my travel, but if the temps continue to be that far off, I will have to knock it more stars and probably discontinue using it. Accuracy with weather was 50 percent of the reason why I made the purchase. With my travel schedule, I would like to rely on this feature.
