loóna is the first app that lets you quickly disconnect from a long stressful day and get in the right mood for sleep.

Not exactly. loóna isn’t a list of direct go-to-sleep techniques, but rather a mood-altering app that helps you to stay calm during the day and prepares you emotionally for going to sleep in the evening.

Negative emotions we accumulate during the day are processed and consolidated by our brain during sleep making them more difficult to disassociate from when faced again in the future. Moreover, feeling angry, anxious, down, or, the opposite, excited, and elated, is likely to affect latencies to sleep onset and REM-sleep. People mistake it for the symptoms of a sleep disorder, but in reality, they just may be in the wrong mood for sleep.

From the wake up and during the busy day Loóna will support your emotional states with playlists and immersive stories. Each night you’ll have a recommended sleepscape. A sleepscape is a guided session that combines activity-based relaxation, storytelling, and sounds in a unique way. Complete it to shut the frantic world out, reset your mind, and create the perfect mood for sleep.

Loóna saves your sleepscape sessions to your Apple Health app.

The upgrade to loóna PLUS provides access to the entire collection of sleepscapes. Our subscription options are: 1-month subscription for $12.99, 1-year subscription with a 7 day trial for $39.99 (price may vary by location).

Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable.

For Loóna, the night time is the right time. Part bedtime story, part interactive activity, and all gorgeous, Loóna winds you down with “sleepscapes,” blends of sound, story, and narration designed to soothe your mind at the end of the day. (Think of them as meditative interactive storybooks, or really easy video games.) Sounds are all breezy forests, babbling rivers, and sweetly buzzing insects; activities involve lighting lanterns or calmly coloring in architectural details. As you progress through sleepscapes, you’ll lose yourself in a fairytale kingdom, explore a dark forest, or simply cozy up to a crackling fire. The app’s developer says the goal is to “recreate this safe bubble from your childhood” and that, if all goes to plan, you’ll shut it down well before you’re finished.

Okay so I just downloaded this an hour ago and I haven’t been able to stop playing it. I am not a fan of paid apps, it just feels like after paying for a phone, a watch, unlimited everything, why do I have to pay more money to have games and apps? Now that I’ve got that gripe out (sorry) my mental health has taken a huge hit the last two years and I ended up with the Calm app (love) Balance (phenomenal) and happened to see this on Instagram today and it sounded like something I’d love and so far, 100% right. I was not thrilled that I only get a week trial and then I’ll have to pay for the app but I’m very pleased with the graphics and how beautifully calming, relaxing and enjoyable this is so I might have to splurge on myself and get this. I definitely recommend giving the week trial a try, it will hook you. There are so many great features, I hope that new escapes and stories are added. Update I had to pay for the year, I seriously couldn’t let this app go and I look forward to the escapes every day. I do not just do them before bed, I do calm ones when I’m anxious and grateful ones when I wake up. My only worry is that I’ll do all the escapes and need/want more new ones. This, for me feels like a very different, creative and innovative app, it’s beautiful and fun beyond words. I have downloaded and deleted so many apps because they always end up disappointing in some way or another but this one is a keeper!

I Adore This App.

I never thought I'd be in a position where I wanted to hawk an app, but here I am. Ever since I was a teenager I've had trouble with insomnia. I'll go through periods where it takes two to three hours to fall asleep. I'm tired enough to sleep. That isn't the problem. I just can't seem to switch my brain off long enough to do it. I'll lay there for hours and think about everything under the sun.

I downloaded this app one day on a whim. You're not really supposed to lay in bed on your phone so I thought how well could it really work? It looked pretty though. I like pretty things. I loaded it up and there are episodes called sleepscapes that you color in as you're guided by a narrator. I did the first episode, put my phone on the charger and closed my eyes. In ten minutes, I was asleep. I was kind of amazed. I kept doing it every night and it kept working. I'm not sure at all of the specifics but I think it gets your mind to focus on one thing, something relaxing, and allows your brain to shut down enough to actually fall asleep. It got to a point where I didn't need to use it every night. My mind knew it was time to go to bed and it cooperated.

If you have an issue like mine then I suggest just giving it a shot. People use it for sleep, for anxiety issues, with varying degrees of success. I don't think it works for everyone who tries it, but it does seem to help a lot of people.
