A great concept but not great execution

I have a few complaints with the software but my biggest gripe is that it constantly crashes and closes out at the moment the status of the lock changes so I do not know if it actually changed or not. I am using an iPhone X with the latest software update and it’s been like this for six months.

Aside from that it’s laggy and weird that the status flips to the opposite status when you click a status. Wouldn’t it be better programmatically if it would just show no status if it does not know what the status is? Instead it automatically switches to lot if you tag unlocked and vice versa. It does it while it’s waiting to get a status update from the lock itself. It should just show no status if it does not know what the status is.

Anyway - doesn’t seem to get updates anymore. It’s been a year since the last one.

Terrible Product

Lockitron has the opportunity to create an incredible product here, and falls terribly short of the mark. I will limit the scope of this review to their app and not speak to their lock or bridge product that are also terribly implemented...

First, the app is buggy. Every time I connect to the lock and change its status, ie locked to unlocked, or unlocked to lock, the app crashes and I have to relaunch the app just to check the status to make sure it worked.

Two, the app attempts to connect to the WiFi bridge first - connecting to the lock via WiFi (over the Internet). However if your bridge is offline (because it’s a horrible product too), the app just fails and fails and fails to connect. You’ll wait 2 or 3 minutes just for the app to finally failover to Bluetooth to connect locally to the lock.

Three, the app, even after connecting to the lock through Bluetooth, doesn’t respond every time you click. I may have to click on Lock two or three times before it finally successfully communicates with the lock and the lock actually does something.

Again, just a huge opportunity to create an awesome product - love the concept, just an abysmal implementation.

I have it a 4 because when it works it works well, but when I first got it I had to reload my it could be much better. the app about once a month because it stopped working. Now I only have to reload about every 3or4 months. There are bugs in the software. I can’t get everybody I to get permission to use the lock and sometimes the proximity works and sometimes It doesn’t. The whole thing is iffy. When I bought it I read all good things about the lock but after using it for a year I th
