Always Room For Improvement

I have been a LogTen user for 7 years now and if I had to give a simlpe answer, it would be that I enjoy the application. However, there is always room for imporovement. I would personally enjoy an imporoved pay tracking system where airline empolyees could track their pay. This would defninitely take some time and coordination with airline pilots becuase of the diveristy and complexity of the situation. Airline pilots deal with Credit which is what a trip is worth, per diem, international stipends, and other sources of pay (examples could be "sit pay", 200% for premium trips, trip change benefits which could be pay on top of a trip's credit because of a change of schedule in the middle of a rotation). There are many different scenarios which could affect what the pilot gets paid for a certain trip. That being said, if LogTen could figure out a way for pilots to introduce different pay options associated with trips I would absolutely give this app a 5 star review. One other small item I have found to be a bit confusing is at times the logbook marks the flight on a different date than the actual day the flight took off. This is most likely due to the application wanting to use GMT time compared to Local time is my thought. They fixed their syncing issues which I was supper excited to see and now it is WAY better than before. Overall you all are doing a good job and looking forward to how this app develops and grows for the future generation of aviators!

Hello Aj91639172, thank you sincerely for taking the time to share your feedback and leave this review! As a time of pilots ourselves, and as you mentioned, we understand how much pay calculations vary across airlines, and different regions all over the world, and would like to connect with you directly to better understand your individual case so that we can document your feedback. LogTen can be configured to display the dates in Local, or UTC, and we'd also love the opportunity to look at this with you. Our Fantastic Support Team will be standing by on the other side of support@coradine.com, or we can also be reached via the Help Menu in LogTen, we look forward to hearing from you! // Happy Landings, Team LogTen.
Upgraded from LogTen Pro 6

I happily used an old permanent version (no subscription) of LogTen Pro for over a decade until one day when trying to import new flights from a spreadsheet I realized that on a modern MacOS, the app was functional but the menus are not. I needed the current version. I’m not crazy about the subscription model, and don’t need the integration features that are new, but the program works well and all my data is in it. My upgrade wasn’t seamless but the tech support got me in the right direction. The support website indicates that you can upgrade an old database when the app first starts, but that is out of date, and left me frustrated spending an hour trying to follow outdated help guides. Once I e-mailed tech support, within days I was up and running. They always responded within 24 hours. It’s not instant, but sufficient, and not at all what the one star reviews led me to fear. There are some minor bugs. For instance, when naming custom fields that are high in number (like Notes Custom Field 8), the name doesn’t make it into the main display until one exits settings, goes back in, deselects the field, and reselects it. Overall, the program does what it says and is easy to use.
Good but is improving

The program is good and does a wonderful job of keeping organized with your logbook and being able parallel your paper logbook as well if you keep one as back up like I do.I regards to issues or troubleshooting issues in particular customer service is good and the customer support is quite prompt. However I do not like having to email back and forth so much to describe the issue at hand. Sometimes a simple phone call would resolve issues much faster than emails. The only other gripe I have is if you send an email and they get back to you but you have to lets say go fly and only see the email when you get back on the ground later they will close your ticket before you even respond back, this needs to be better in understanding that the customer may not always be sitting in front of a computer and able to respond quickly, and for any doubters on this subject no the email and their response to close it fell within the same day and I wasn't able to see it until late night.

Hello Shadow Aviation, thank you for taking the time to leave this review and share your feedback. We're so happy to hear that you're loving LogTen as much as we do, and it's always great to hear about the logbook backup redundancies that you have in place. In case you didn't know, you can also create a static backup of your LogTen logbook on your Mac to be saved in iCloud and/or Dropbox - just click on the Backups icon in the upper right-hand corner of the app, then click on the + button in the lower left hand corner and you're all set. Regarding your experience with support, we hear and understand your frustrations. Our small, but dedicated support team is spread across the globe and we pride ourselves on prompt and expert email replies. We do hope to be able to offer a dedicated support phone line in the future that will match our current exceptionally high quality standards for communication, once our resources allow. And thank you for letting us know about the unexpected closure of your support ticket - this does not sound like part of our standard response flow and your feedback lets us know that something in our automations is needing review. Please know that even if your ticket is set as solved, you can always reply and it will be reopened and our support team will be notified. We're always standing by to help! Overpriced and Outdated

At the recommendation of several other professional pilots, I switched to LogTen a couple years ago. While it has the potential to be an incredibly powerful logbook, it has some huge pitfalls that make actually using it a tremendous pain. The mobile app is the least intuitive thing I’ve used in my entire life. Syncing is unreliable at best, often times requiring you to force quit and relaunch the app multiple times before a successful sync. About a year ago there was a major update that moved nearly a thousand of my landings from Day Landings to a custom landing category, requiring me to manually move all of them back over. Typing an airport identifier into the From or To column is very laggy, something like this just screams lazy programming. The interface on Mac and mobile both feel very dated and have some pretty odd alignment and attention to detail issues that have not been fixed in years. Reports lack important fields (I needed tailwheel hours for insurance, no report seems to summarize this). Overall, I’m paying $120/yr for something that could be accomplished with a spreadsheet. I spent a day exporting my flights to a CSV and making my own spreadsheet that offers far better control over metrics. This feels more like an open-source hobby project than a professionally-produced app. Absolutely not worth the money.
• Enhanced sync and backup
• Stability and performance updates
