This was not a very good idea to start with, as devices can and do change with a user. In the future I may provide a way to sync favorites to the server using Facebook or your cell phone number. Previously, it looks like we were attempting to transfer favorites database from the free version to the paid version of LOLCats. We are also no longer doing that now, as that is not supported and has not been allowed for a long time as far as I know.
