Frustration and Options
Maybe it’s because my phone is stacked up, not sure. But it kept deleting my tutorials as a bass instructor and helping others in Spanish in the state of this pandemic, all it did was chop off my recordings in the middle of my sessions. It got annoying and when I would actually finish without any interruptions, my recording would mute and would not continue meaning I’d waste my time. Instead I downloaded “Record It!”. It’s exactly like loom but it’s actually more patient with you. If you’re also struggling with loom, there is always the option to download the amazing app “Record It!” OR other screen recording apps.
This app constantly crashes and will not upload videos that I’ve spent time to record, which if you’re using this app to streamline communication with your team and improve productivity completely defeats the purpose of using the app.
And the crashing issues are not only on mobile. They’re on desktop too.
On top of this, what is really frustrating is I started paying $5 per month and then shortly after subscribing I get an email letting me know that my monthly subscription price was going to double from $5 to $10? Seriously? It feels unethical - like a bait and switch after we’ve already got our time invested into making and storing our team tutorials here.
On the other hand, Loom had some other features that are nice like notifying you when the video is watched, Gmail extension which I don’t use because I don’t use email for my email client, and commenting at time markers in the video.
But to be honest none of the nice features are worth it if they cannot address the crashing and stability of this app. I’m hoping to see some improvements, but might be canceling my subscription and downloading all past videos because continuing to re-record videos is not worth it to me and I can say I am currently not getting $10 worth of value per month out of this app.
Huge iOS frustration solved! Record voice and screen.
I use Loom daily on PCs and Macs to record short videos walking people through software, answering questions and pointing out issues. Loom is a game changer and a huge time saver when you need to show a visual of anything and record voice on any device. The Loom iOS app is looong awaited! Thank you! I’ve needed to record screen video with sound on my iOS devices for years. It’s been a huge frustration until now. This app is just what it needs to be. Nothing more. Nothing less. You guys are amazing. Keep up the great work!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
