Lorex Eco Stratus allows you to connect to Lorex Eco DVRs featuring the exclusive Lorex Stratus Connectivity service. Lorex Stratus Connectivity allows you to view your cameras on your mobile phone using a simple 3 step setup process. Simply download the app, scan the QR code on the top of your DVR and enter the password to connect to your system. No complicated port forwarding or network configuration is required.
The app allows you to:

• View recorded video saved on your DVR hard drive.
• Save snapshots and video directly to your device.
• Control PTZ cameras from your phone or tablet.
• iOS 5.0 and higher supported.

Huge security flaw when viewing and playing back
You know how on Mission Impossible and other spy flicks they foil the video security by playing back a clean looped image instead of the live footage? This app does that for you!
If a camera stops sending video, it will continue playing the last image. You will only notice if you notice that the time no longer increments. This will happen for live footage as long as you don’t close the app and when playing back the recording to try and see where / why it died.
Beyond dumb for a security device.
Everything else about the app is pretty much standard and or still requires you to use a computer (not your device) and install their special plugin to make changes to the system. The app is very much Only for remote viewing.
If I could give this app zero stars, I would. The app doesn’t allow me to connect to the cameras from my phone which doesn’t allow me to view the cameras away from home, this is very INCONVENIENT. I purchased these cameras so that I’m able to view from my phone away from home. My wife however has downloaded the app and connected to the cameras just fine. I used the same password she created and the same exact steps she took, and still no connection. But wait it gets even worse, I tried contacting customer support multiple times and stood on hold for over an hour, on every occasion, and stood another hour trying to understand what the rep was trying to do, which was a complete waste of time. I’ve literally spend my entire evenings coming home from work to sit infront of a phone and monitor waiting for someone to answer and when they do, they can’t even help me or give me solution!!!!!!! Worst customer service I ever had to deal with
After about 3 months of being able to utilize my facilities camera system on my phone I am now no longer able to connect to the server. I cannot delete the server to set up another one as this simple process is not supported on the app. And since NOTHING changed on the server I cannot add another one with the same information to see if it will then allow me to connect. This app is effectively useless and deserves much less than the current 2 star rating as, what should be, basic elements are missing from the app and there seems to be zero support from Lorex as well.
