Lost Lands 1 4+

As a free to play point and click puzzle game, I had low expectations for this. The game greatly surpassed those expectations! The background music is appropriate to the scene and well done, the graphical images are clear (pinch to zoom helps in puzzles where the objective is finding hidden items). Perhaps most importantly, the puzzles range from fairly easy to somewhat challenging but never days-on-end frustrating. I didn’t need hints at all and you are offered five free ones to stay with. The map is large and the story is much longer than I would have expected from a free game.

The bonus chapter also has plenty to offer and it is not expensive. I purchased more hints as a way to support the dev before realizing the bonus chapter required payment but $5 did not seem excessive for the entire content. Certainly $2 or $3 for the bonus chapter is completely fair after you have played through the main game for free.

I am already through half of the second game in the series and it is better than this one. So glad I found this series later on as I see there are many more sequels, and different series of games, from this developer. I look forward to spending hours with them all, keep them coming Five-BN!

I’m picky about the games I play on my iPad, and I wanted a game where you solve puzzles and work through a storyline. The Lost Lands series is phenomenal! The artwork is beautiful and the story is great. All seven games are full of challenging puzzles and you get to know and love the characters, and you feel excited to play through the game. You could play through the whole series without watching ONE ad if you really wanted to, but I just wanted to support this game developer because I was actually impressed with how great this series was, given it was just an app for my iPad lol. I’m very impressed. Im on the seventh game of the series now and and I’m sad it’s ending, but I’ll play the next series! I hope some of this storyline gets tied in but yeah. It’ll pull at your heartstrings and will keep you entertained for hours. Okay that’s all! Thanks so much!!

Great game. I am about to download number 7! Very similar to Unsolved, except you don’t need any energy—which means you can play for as long as you want. On the flip side, there are no optional ads to watch to receive coins—which means that if you get stuck and get frustrated and need more hints, you have to buy them with *gasp* actual money. Worth it, imho.

The only downside is that some of the little mini games take up the whole screen of your phone, which means that if you have to grab some sort of puzzle piece or stone or something from the top and then drag it down you end up dragging the top screen down (iPhone users—not sure if androids have an equivalent menu that you drag). Honestly, this could be entirely prevented if iPhone simply BROUGHT BACK THE HOME BUTTON—

Ahem. I digress.

Since it is unlikely that Apple is going to go back to the previous screen system that made more sense, then I fear it is up to the creators of Lost Lands to overcompensate for the failure. Alas, such is life. Hopefully they’ll read through this diatribe so I don’t end up throwing my phone across the room in a fit of pique because the stupid Notification Center swiped down AGAIN—
