I originally gave this one star because it didn't work and there were a lot of hoops to jump through just getting to a person to help. I am changing the review to four stars after being contacted very quickly by the developer and now the app is running as advertized. The app is really fun. I enjoy it very much. It does what is says and more. Cons: There is something hinky with the app if you look at the number of reviews that mention they couldn't get it to work without intervention. Pros: The developer answers the problems very quickly and gets you going. So, I would give it five stars but for the obvious hiccup at starting the app up. It IS worth the money, but be prepared for a initial need to get help.

Loud Typer is perfect!! I've been using it for a long time, but feel it is time to tell others how great this app is because sometimes when something works so well, you just take it for granted. With Loud Typer, you can have the "regular" sounds of a typewriter, or pick from a slew of many different sounds to suit your taste or mood. The typewriter sounds give me a old fashioned comfort and instant audio feedback when I am doing work online. Loud Typer actually has me look forward to those hours of paperwork that need to be done for my self employed business, whereas before it was just another chore. For those of you who do personal writing, Loud Typer will allow the keys to flow with the soothing clackity clack sounds putting your brain in an relaxed state, allowing your writing to just flow! Can't say enough good things about this app! Thank you delevoper!!

If you like having audial feedback during typing, you have to rely on a writing app's developer to build it in, or download a dedicated app. The others out there aren't available in the Mac App Store, and don't have anywhere near the customization Loud Typer does—assigning themes to specific apps only, as well as option to disable sounds for arrow & input modifier keys (Cmd, Opt, Ctrl, etc.)It's great the the developer actively maintains the app and is regularly adding sounds and fixing bugs. The only thing this app is missing is the ability to assign a keyboard shortcut for the global application switch to be able to quickly toggle it on/off; right now, it's 3 clicks deep in the app's settings pane, 4 if you happen to have the menu bar icon hidden by a menu bar manager like Bar Tender.

I was (and am) really excited to find this! It's really satisfying and I love that you can use it on more than one computer. I have it active on both of mine.The only thing is that I feel like the sounds have suddenly gotten a lot quieter. Sometimes I have to turn my volume all the way up to hear the typing noise (but I don't know if that makes any/much difference). There's no way to manually set this within the app (from what I can tell), and it doesn't get any louder when I turn the sound up.I wish there was a way to change this. I have the noise I like best set, but I might change it to see if anything is louder.
