If you are an absolute design freak such as myself, you should IMMEDIATELY buy this Book/App. It is WONDERFUL. I am just in Louis Heaven every time I open it and find something new. There is so much information to learn, so many designs to contemplate. I've loved LV since I was a kid and my Mama travelled with a full set of Vuitton luggage, yes, including a trunk!! So every time I pick up a new piece for myself, I think of my Mom and she passed on to me her love of fine things and there is just nothing finer than an actual Louis Vuitton piece-----well even this Book/App is quality. An absolute STEAL at $19.

Louis Vuitton Legendary Trunks is one of most unique applications I have ever come across. It is arguably the first iOS application that successfully brings together all the facets of luxury fashion in an entertaining and immersive manner. Upon launch with the introduction video you can immediately see that this is no ordinary branding application that is more style than substance. It is both style and substance. The presentation is creative in that users can access the content in many ways. One way is by selecting a person and reading about how the luggage played a part in their lifestyle. This will come through in either images, videos, sound clips, texts, documents, 360 interactions of the trunks or a combination of a few. The public figures presented come from all walks of life whether heads of state, business, or artists who range from the mid 1800's to the present day. This timeline of figures who traveled with Louis Vuitton trunks helps to illustrate the historical context of the brand and provides users with various styles of the suitcases employed in different time periods. The suitcase collection can be viewed in multiple ways whether through a timeline, gallery or other unique ways giving weight to the idea of the products being worthy of examination and the book it is based on. The application itself can be taken as a visual anthropological study with the luxury brand crossing so many social and cultural borders over various time periods. This application is proof that there is much more to fashion and in particular luggage than just style. There aren't enough hours in the day to go through all the features in this app! It is more like a book than an app I'd say, but it is gorgeous overall. Not for the everyday Joe 6-pack for sure. Very sophisticated features that match the LV craftsmanship shown on the trunks and special orders displayed here. Pricey but worth it.
