Foot Controller Ready-Fix The Crashin
I was looking for a loop launcher that I could use with my KMI SoftStep 2. Something easy to use with good MIDI implementation. This one fits the bill. It could use individual clip launch but the work around is duplicating scenes. It was crashing for me but after I loaded a factory clip in to the demo I could then load clips in to my projects and import loops. Unfortunately you are going to have to buy the full version to see if it works for you. For simple loop launching this is the best there is.
Fast workflow and easy to use. My new favorite.
I've been evaluating loop apps for composition and live performance and found LP-5 gives me almost everything I need. In my opinion, it is the easiest to learn and use, with enough features to be a powerful creative tool. It is designed around a straight forward grid structure. Samples are easy to import. They are also easy to record from the mic input or from an IAA app. It locks tempo to other apps via Ableton Link when you need it. (Sometimes, it's rhythmic fun to intentionally mismatch tempos between apps, if you get my drift :).
And selection and playback of individual samples can be midi controlled (I wish the record button had a midi command, then it'd be perfect for live, hands-free looping with a foot controller). Of course, there are other things that can be enhanced, but this app took a giant step over an earlier version,
making it my new favorite. Any future version will be icing on the cake.
Very fluid design, stable, all round awesome
I don't normally use a lot of clip launching apps on iOS because most of them are very fiddly and you spend too much time sorting through your audio. With LP-5 you can fly through a recording session simply by holding a pad and then begin recording from any IAA sound source that you have loaded. It all syncs perfectly, recording stops automatically at the loop length and it all works rock solid and smoothly. I love that your recordings are easily accessible again just by holding a pad. It's easy as pie to switch out one IAA instruments for another and of course there's great loops to get you started and if you want to import audio you can do so straight from the pads. I do wish you could export a single pad in the same way as importing it though. But you can capture perfect loops of the overall output and that's pretty great.
