So good that I do not even care that there is no iPad-specific version
Not only is it free but it also lets you pick and preview. A few simple options are all I really want in a converter app and this gives them perfectly.
Sometimes I do not care about perfect and lossless quality... and I can choose whether to have it or not.
Most of the time I just want a nice 1Mb gif and I can actually make my own decision on whether I prefer smoother frames or crisper images.
Keep up the great work 👍
Found workaround for empty Camera Roll but flawed
I unfortunately moved the live photos I wish to convert into another album. They are no longer in the Camera Roll -- the default location that LP loads. Even though I've copied the photos back to my iPhone in another Album, when I select "Album" to load photos from a different album, the LP app crashes.
Eventually I found a workaround. Snap a "Live" photo. It's in the Camera Roll. Now LP finds the one Live photo in the Camera Roll and lets me search other Albums without crashing.
However!... (1) The app does not preserve the correct orientation of the original photo. (2) The app doesn't even preserve the original aspect ratio!! The only thing preserved is some portion of the original photo and the metadata. I appreciate the latter, but the other flaws are unacceptable.
I guess you get what you pay for. I suppose I need to write my own app.
Developer Response ,
For the people just seeing this review since its the highest rated. I’ve fixed the orientation issue for still frames now, and I believe the crashing problems are related to iCloud photo library which I fixed a few months ago.
Great idea but I'm having issues...
This is exactly what I need! I was using google motion stills, but that stopped working for some reason. So I went looking for other apps to see if just Motion stills was bad on my phone, but I'm still having problems. I can turn a live photo into a GIF supposedly, but when I go to share it (or save it to my device) it just comes through as a blurry photo. I have only gotten success when I've used iMessage and sent it using an address. (As opposed to airdrop) Would you be willing to help me problem shoot this as I would really love to use your app. Thank you.
P.S. Your help link on iTunes is not working and is connected to a faulty page.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
