Here's what our users are saying:

"The goal with Lrn isn't to turn you into a hardcore programmer. Instead, it's to get you from a beginner who knows nothing about coding to a more beginner-intermediate level." -Business Insider

"I raced through the set of free tutorials the app begins with and quickly paid $2.99 for the complete course. The lessons are written in an entertaining but unpatronizing tone to guide you through code examples." -The Next Web

"I have been wanting to learn to code via mobile and this is the first solution I have stuck to all the way through. It works offline so I can use during my commute in the subway and is fun. It's an engaging way to learn to code and I would recommend it to anyone who is a business person looking to understand the fundamentals like me." -App Store Review

My Review

This is overall a very good app for it's purpose, which is to be an introduction to the basics of a programming language, despite the fact I haven't gotten through all the lessons yet.
It does cost money to get some additional lessons in JavaScript, Python, and Ruby, but you can get additional lessons for free in one programming language as long as you share the app on Facebook or Twitter.
I did want to write this a good review as it is a good app for it's purpose, however I also wanted to reduce the general rating, since it does beg for money quite a bit, so I took away from it half a star from the general rating, which was 4 and a 1/2 stars at the time of writing. So now you know exactly why I rated this 4 stars, and have good information on this app too.

Needs Sound!!

Something that this app AND Codecademy are lacking is sound. Little sounds when you get something correct or a clicking sound when you press a button would keep people engaged and would help commit the information to memory. Also having an option to listen to someone read out the text. Please consider! Great app!!

Great App!!!

Very happy with my free download from the Apple Store! I would recommend this to anybody who wants to learn JavaScript, Ruby or Python or the basics if you haven't learned it yet, HTML &CSS. It gave me a foundation to get used to before I could even understand the lessons being taught online. I have a learning disability so the extra practice was extremely functional to my learning journey in earning a degree in Computer Science!
