Luka Mini – Glucose Readings 4+

Great little app. Simply login to your Dexcom account from the app and you will get real-time readings right in your Macbook menu bar. Use this in conjuction with the sugarmate.io website (in order to get your history) and you'll be back in business since the sugarmate.io app is no longer supported. Would have received 5 stars if glucose history was provided so there is lots of potential for improvements.

I had been using the SugarMate app for the past five years, and it helped me control my blood sugars much better by helping me seamlessly monitoring the dips and spikes. But over the last year, the Sugarmate app has been more problems than help and recently just stopped working all together.

So I, downloaded the Luka app recently and it actually works better as it updates seamlessly and more fluidly, which is crucial, as all diabetics know… outdated blood sugar readings can cause issues catching the lows or cutting off a highs. Thank you to the Luka team! You are making a positive difference in the diabetic world!

Now that Sugarmate has effectively died, Luka Mini is simple and adds my Dexcom current BG to my Man menu bar, which is a great way for me to manage my diabetes while I’m on my work computer. Thank you Luka team!

It could be a little fancier and show a short history to let me know what’s been happening, but for what it is it’s simple, no fuss, and works well.
