Real people, real stories, no judgement.

Life is all kinds of amazing. It’s also all kinds of hard. Whatever you’re dealing with, there are others who can relate – people who would cheer you on if they could hear you. That’s what Lyf is for: a platform to share stuff that might be too personal for your other social media, without the fear of judgement or criticism.

Your journeys (otherwise known as “beats”) can include your obstacles as well as your achievements – both have value within the Lyf community. And because there’s no shortage of what life can throw at you, you can have as many beats as you want.

Each beat has its own timeline and privacy setting, because each of your experiences are unique: you can choose to share your beat with select people, share with the entire Lyf community, or wear a mask and be completely anonymous – there’s no wrong way to engage. To ensure a positive experience, anonymous beats are kept troll-free by only allowing the beat-maker to post and comment anonymously, while followers must use their username to comment.

Whether you’re battling anxiety, dealing with infidelity, coping with loss, overcoming illness, struggling with addiction, or questioning your sexual identity, you’ll be inspired by a world of support in the palm of your hand. Don’t feel like sharing yet? No problem. Instead of following people, you can follow their beats and get insight about your own challenges along the way.

Whether it’s a struggle or a celebration, in Lyf, you’re not alone.

What makes us different?

– You will never see ads on Lyf

– We foster a judgement-free “no troll zone”

– Your journey is not part of an algorithm

– Choose any level of privacy and anonymity you’re comfortable with

Lyf is, and always will be, free to download and use for the purposes of sharing with and receiving support from fellow Lyfers. However, we offer an optional service called Lyf Support for when you might require professional guidance from fully-qualified psychologists.

Lyf Support offers one free 15 minute trial per user, and for a small in-app purchase of USD $4.99, users are able to engage in a 30 minute session with the ability to repeat whenever they please.

Payment will be charged to your credit card through your App Store account at confirmation of purchase. Read our full Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy at:

Great support, positive community, has helped me a lot

This app has been phenomenal to me. I suffer from autism, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and ocd. I have a lot of bad feelings and I tend to push people away in my real life, so I needed to reach out to other types of people - my online friends - and the people on Lyf are supportive and give me advice when I feel down. Since I started using this app last year, I’ve felt so welcome and free from judgement. This is the best place where you will be taken care of and made to feel loved, and cyberbullying is not tolerated on Lyf. Try out this app, I promise you won’t regret it.

Could be better

Lyf is an okay support app. It tries to be the place where people who need to talk about issues can go and not have to fake being happy all the time. But the layout and design of the interface needs work. There was an update but it didn’t help much.

The community isn’t actually as supportive as I thought it would be. I used Lyf for several months and sometimes spent quite a lot of time and effort into making a post but no one would respond. Hundreds of people can like your post without writing any comments. One could argue that not everyone has something to say, but if at least 5% of the people who liked the post responded, it would make it seem like people are actually reading what you wrote.

The most popular stories that have all the likes and comments are of course related to sex and drugs. That’s not a bad thing but it makes you feel like your problem isn’t important if it’s not related to sex or drugs. Not everyone has a problem with those things. Maybe some people are battling cancer or in the midst of handling other major life changes like moving to a new country, school, having kids, etc.

You can certainly post about whatever you like, but you just won’t get much feedback if it is not a hot topic. So overtime, it feels like you’re talking to thin air. Maybe if the focus wasn’t. That’s why I deleted the app.

Great app for connecting with real people

This app does a great job of connecting people from all walks of life. I’ve found support on personal things things I’ve been experiencing and was able to express myself on a non-judgmental platform. It feels good to know that there are people out there who have issues in common with what I am going through. There are things for me, that I can’t talk about on Facebook.... being able to post anonymously to talk about things is a major peace of mind...
