Maccy is a clipboard manager which does one job - keep your copy history at hand. Period.

Maccy works blazingly fast. You can open and search your entire clipboard history in just a fraction of a second. Nothing should distract you from what you're focused on.

Just type what you want to find in history and hit Enter. You don't need to use your mouse. Don't waste your time moving your hands away from the keyboard.

Maccy respects your privacy. It's aware of password managers and won't log them in history. All the data is stored on your computer and never leaves it.

Maccy is built using native macOS UI. It is minimalistic. It looks and feels exactly as you'd expect. Don't get distracted by a sophisticated design.

Unlike other Mac clipboard managers, Maccy does only one job - store your copy history and let you access it fast. You won't be overloaded by unnecessary features.

Maccy is an open source application using the MIT license. Its full source code is available at GitHub. You can inspect or change it however you want. This version is being sold on the App Store to support the development.

What’s New

Version 0.26.0

- Added support for searching by regular expressions.
- Added experiment mixed search. It works by first searching by exact match. If no results are found, it automatically searches using fuzzy search. Finally, if there are still no results, it uses a regular expressions search.
- Added support for rich preview popups that replace old tooltips. They allow previewing long text easier, showing higher-resolution images, and customizing the delay until the preview is showing via preferences.
- Added support for getting a clipboard item by its position in the Shortcuts app. It is also possible to get a selected item. This allows building complex processing of clipboard items from Maccy via the Shortcuts such as trimming whitespace from copied text, converting copied RTF to Markdown files, and others.
- Added support for ignoring copies coming from the Maccy itself using the ignored applications list.
- Added support for specifying a display to popup at.
- Added support for ignoring all copies except for specific applications listed in the ignore preferences.
- Added several menu icons that can be customized via preferences.
- Improved compatibility with the Pure Paste app.
- Improved search field text contrast in Dark Mode.
- Improved colors with increased contrast / reduced transparency on macOS Ventura.
- Fixed crashes when searching through images from the Photos app.
- Fixed pasting to work on "Dvorak - QWERTY ⌘" and "bépo 1.1 - Azerty ⌘" keyboard layouts.
- Fixed clear history confirmation dialog not focused when the footer is hidden.
- Fixed incorrect placement of the Maccy menu in the screen center when showing the first time or after being inactive for a long time.
- Fixed empty highlighting when there are no search results.

Best clipboard app on Mac if you need images as well as text

I worked on Windows for a long time and loved Ditto. Alas, Ditto does not exist on Mac.
None of the free apps for mac that could work with images were any good, and the main one recommended to me was Paste. It looked good, but it only had a subscription model, which for something like a clipboard manager just feels weird.
Found Maccy, paid my one time purchase, and instantly loved it! If you used Ditto on Windows, this is the app for you on Mac!

*edit* works great ;)

I was having a problem with it not pasting anything. The menu would come up, but nothing happened when I clicked an option, tried keyboard shortcuts, nothing.

I emailed Maccy and they responded quickly and with a solution. All I had to do was go into system settings and give Maccy permission.

Very glad to have found this solution Mac's silly-small clipboard.

Developer Response ,

Sorry you didn't like Maccy. It doesn't paste by default when you select older items - it just copies them again. If you want to paste, you have to enable "Paste automatically" in "Preferences..." first.

Unfortunately, I cannot initiate refund from my side, you have to do it from

Best Clipboard App I've Used

Hands-down the best clipboard I've used to date.

What's great is that it's very straightforward and simple, with configuration options for clipboard history amount, preview size, app ignore lists to prevent passwords from being remembered, and also the ability to clear history on exit.

Fantastic! Reliable, clean, useful.
