Editors’ Notes

Imagine WALL·E directed by Tim Burton—that’s the weird, wonderful world of Machinarium. But this cute robot’s quest for love combines tons more influences—like point-and-click adventures, hidden-object puzzlers, and comic books—for a truly unique experience. Challenging but full of awesome “aha!” moments, it’s an artistic odyssey that looks amazing on iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV.

Fun, but too short and bad hint system

This game has great graphics and I love the tone. The puzzles were interesting and generally well done. There are two main drawbacks for me. First, I think the game is too short given it’s price. Second, I think the hint system, which is crucial for a game like this, has a terrible flaw. Generally I don’t care that you have to play a mini game to access the walkthrough. The problem is that it shows you the walkthrough for the area you’re in, regardless of where you might be in the chain of puzzles. So you might have access to 6 or 7 areas and not be sure where to go next. You’ll have to go to each area, play the mini game, and hope there’s something you can actually do there. This also means that you will sometimes bypass the actual puzzle accidentally because the walkthrough for the area you’re in just has the final solution to another area’s puzzle.

Best Mobile Game Review

Firstly, I’ve owned this mobile game for many years now, and I deeply recommend it. Here’s why. The visual art and animations are all hand drawn and portrays a beautiful world of robots living in a giant mechanical city. Clearly the artists were very passionate. The story is short, as is the game. But it’s a story fit for that world. The puzzles are the one of the most impressive parts of the game. Each and every puzzle is incredibly unique as well as increasingly difficult. The game will make your brain turn. You have to play the puzzles to see what I mean. Pair this with one of the most captivating soundtracks in that I’m wholly convinced of this games’ setting. It can’t be described except but having you experience it along side every other aspect of the game simultaneously. And that’s the beauty of this game. The game itself. It’s a masterpiece in my review. There’s an overflowing amount of art is this game in how every different piece of art (graphics, music, puzzles, story) meshes together perfectly to create a great game. I’ve played it many times and still have fun trying to figure out the puzzles. I would gladly pay more for this game to support the developers and artists. So for this price, there’s not even a question. Buy it. Experience it. Why not?
