MacroPoint For Truckers 17+

Works great for me.

Once it is downloaded a broker need only shoot me a text. The text integrates with MacroPoint immediately allowing them to track me at all times. When I arrive and empty or load a trailer I just push a button. All liability is on the driver. State and federal laws against texting and driving apply. Even if I do not have the app MacroPoint can still track my phone via cell towers.

Fairly the best

I've a complaint that may pertain to a few locations or 1. There's a shipper (water near Sara/ Reno Rd) in Oklahoma that uses this and it sits between or near Yukon & Oklahoma City. The issue is the distance it AUTO tracks updates arrival and departure. One can go a mile or more near shipper and it'll show arrived and or departed even if you're not going to shipper because it's not time. Also the signal (because of AUTO) bounces between Yukon and Okc cell towers which causes AUTO issues. And the bad part is the "tracking" teams who can't change this to manual inputs will get excited / worried and use their screens to electronically harass a driver/ dispatcher. They'll call or text excessively even tho this tracking system is said to reduce contact. So no matter when you arrive on time or depart, the "system" has auto stated something that isn't always the case.

Privacy concerns

Going to be honest with you here. The app works as advertised but I seriously do not like having to download this app onto my personal device in order to complete a load. Every time I have a load that requires me to use the app I only download it when I am actively delivering the load and immediately delete the app afterwards. I feel it is incredibly invasive to have this app on my PERSONAL device. What information does the app have privileges to? My phone contains private data that the app is not clear on whether or not it has access to (financial records, personal pictures/videos, contacts, call/text records, etc.) There should be an opt out option available but apparently I’ll be fined if I don’t download this invasive application on my phone. I am a company driver, my job does not pay my cell phone bill. This is not a “work” phone device. I’m honestly questioning the legality of such a system.

Hi there. We understand and encourage you to read our privacy policy. We can also state that we only ask for location permission. If we wanted access to other files or text history etc.. the app would have to ask you for those permissions to have access. We do not ask for those. We used to but do not any more. The ELD market is strong and we connect to those systems as well. Have your company contact us and we can connect to the truck for location instead of the mobile app.
