Magic Calculator is a scientific calculator that allows you to write calculations directly with the keyboard.
A Magic Calculator document looks like a text editor. Each line of the text is a calculation. Just type expressions and get immediately the results.
If you make a change, everything is automatically updated.
It also allows you to define variables and functions. With the function plotter, you can visualise the graph of the functions you have defined.
The following features are supported:
• Write calculations in natural notation
• High precision calculations
• Trigonometric functions (in radian or degree)
• Variables and functions
• Save and print documents
• Function plotter
• Help page
What Mac App Store Users are Saying :
5/5 — "This is a wonderful App. Allows me to work the way I think. Beyond a competent scientific calculator, it also allows you to simply get a lot of information right there in front of you and then use variables to manipulate it all. Great for everything from project budgeting to reimbursement reports." Mar 25, 2012
5/5 — "I love this app. it is simple, elegant, responsive, and intuitive. It allows me to visualize calculations to achieve great results in a fast way. For instance, defining a function brings up a graph of that function automatically, so I can visually see the data I'm manipulating as I'm using it. I've never experienced side-by-side compatibility like that with such responsive behavior.…" Aug 31, 2012

Good general calculator tool
If you want good variables and simple functions, this is a good calculator program, in open form style. Basically, you have an open console, with “infinite” stack, and can define and use variables as desired. I wish it supported multiple variable functions (i.e. f(x,y) = x*y), but it’s limited to single variables at this time.
Developer Response ,
Multiple variable functions are actually supported, it requires semi-colon instead of coma:
f(x ; y) = x*y .
Best regards, Yann.
I use this product every day. It's perfect for my needs. Also it's one of the few apps that I have ever submitted an idea for and a new update with that feature was put out within a week. This shows that the app is still being maintained and that the developer cares about his users.
Strait forward, and does the job . . .
I agree with some of the comments here, (especially the –2ˆ2 issue . . I didn’t get -2, but I got -4 which is equally impossible so I would check into that one guys) but I felf the ratings might be a bit too harsh. I find it easy to use, and it handled some pretty intense variance in sample pop equations for me well enough . .
All in all, I am very happy with the app, and found it the best available for a down and dirty simple calculator, far superior to the built in on the mac or others I had seen in the app store.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
