To work MakeItHome requires screen recording permission: it is necessary to save apps previews and create the screen's boundaries-breaking effect. No screenshots will be saved or sent anywhere. MakeItHome could also require the Accessibility permission to create a transparent mouse slowing effect where necessary (like the Dock or menu side) to avoid the involuntary activation of the overscreen effect maintaining the cursor under the control of the user.

Lots of themes

The application includes many high-quality animated themes for various events. All you need to do is choose the design you like, add your photos and create an amazing video with one click.

Developer Response ,

Thank you. For the moment, the theme is strictly related to macOS' background. If the background is not available or not compatible, appears a default blue theme. I'm working to the next release and the theme setting still as is for the moment, due to other functionality priorities. After all, the purpose of the application is not aesthetic.

Like it

I'm impresed by the app not collecting data and the fact it is free. Well done! I decided not to keep it as I'm a regular user of mission control in MacOS but the developer deserves to be recognized for creating something of good quality. I'm certain there will be many people that prefer this over mission control. Great job Riccardo and thank you!

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much. It's essential to have the user's trust given that, to work, it's necessary to use the screen recording feature: transparency about its way to work is essential. Regarding this, at this moment the app's source is available on GitHub in Gecko's Ink repositories.

Apart from that, the development of MakeItHome is pretty complex, and since it's free I cannot, for the moment, develop it constantly. I'm worried about the next releases: I have to complete the widgets zone and make it useful. I have to improve the performances, that after months and months seems impossible to do. I have to fix bugs, without having a substantial feedback from the user. Anyway, now, after months of being ignored, I have begun to have a certain interest from the users, and this can motivate me to improve the app. I'm its first user, I'm used to use it and I notice it mostly when, for some reason, the app is not running and I try to access in the overscreen zone. However the widgets zone, which was studied to host third-party widgets, is slow and incomplete, and also when I should use it because it could accelerate my work, primarily thanks to the Clipboard widget, I'm not used to opening it: the view it's resource-intensive, and I tend to have dozens of applications open at once. Not seeing smooth animations is enough for me to stay away from it. And this is not good.

The moral of the story, I hope that in the future there will be substantial interest both in giving advice from users and contributing to its development by programmers, so as not to result in a disappointing product. And that's also the reason it's free: I'm scared of requesting money on something that might not deliver the promised results.

There is a lot of work to do. It's possible to create something of fantastic, but it's a complex task.

Sorry if I was long-winded.

Thank you so much,
Riccardo
