MakeSpace has been so convenient for me thus far. I had to move but couldn’t take a lot of things that I had with me right away. I had them store what I didn’t need at the moment. Then, when given the chance to ask for a few things back it was all super easy! You have to have things stored for a minimum of 3 months so I haven’t asked for everything back and personally I don’t need everything back yet. I had to log on to the website though because the app was not loading correctly at that time. Storage wise I would just say that if you’re having a bed stored, wrap it up it in two bags since one bag can easily tear and when they’re moving it the part that is teared can allow for dirt to come in while in the process of moving. This just happened to me but it wasn’t too bad, I just removed it with some tide-to go. They also send enough guys to make the whole process super quick! Their services are exactly what I need.
Refused Our Stuff!
MakeSpace sounded so promising and we were excited to try it. We were moving from a large apartment to a tiny house and needed a lot of things stored. We were asked to send a shipment inventory, which we did, and were asked to arrange for delivery of our items THEIR facility, which seemed odd and counter to their advertisements. Then, out of the blue, they told us they would not accept our shipment because their DC ops team is not equipped to store crates that big. I never asked them to store the entire crate but specifically told them we would sort things out on delivery day. I saw on FB they advertise that no shipment was too big for them to handle and they told another client they would accept multiple houses worth of stuff! I left a comment to the contrary and was told there must have been a misunderstanding and that I should call their customer service to work it out! Meanwhile I’ve clarified I don’t need the crates stored and the plan was to sort things out on delivery day. No reply! I am floored at their lack of transparency in their advertising and customer service model, and cannot recommend them. it looks like we’ll go brick and mortar and go with an old fashioned storage facility. Bummer! Also, MakeSpace, if you read this, don’t bother to make it right. We’re going in a different direction but I suggest you sync up your Operations and Social Media teams so they’re all on the same page!
Amazing from start to finish!
When I needed MakeSpace in the fall my partner and I were in a scary situation we needed to leave our rented room in NYC as soon as possible. MakeSpace came and saved the day! They wrapped everything up very quickly. They carried everything down to the the truck. They were fast, efficient and caring in our stressful time.
The next 6 months we found ourselves jumping from one rented room to another, all over Manhattan, and each location we needed different versions of our things. Each time we moved MakeSpace would come and deliver or pick up some items we needed or no longer needed at not extra charge. It’s just included in all that MakeSpace does. Each time they would take 5 minutes at the most!
I can’t imagine what our last 6 months would have been without MakeSpace. Much more difficult and with much less of our things I assure you.
We have recently moved into a place where we could get all of our things back! Hallelujah!
Unfortunately, MakeSpace lost our mattress. We only had the basic protection plan which is 60cents per pound and of course the mattress is a light-weight-fold-up foam. So MakeSpace only had to pay us $18. They reviewed our case. Saw what we originally paid for the mattress and paid us for almost 2/3rds of what we paid for it. I’m thrilled.
Thank you MakeSpace for being perfection from the beginning to the end. We can’t wait to use your services again.
