Mana - Finance for Gamers 9+

Just like many others I pre-ordered the pro package when it was first unveiled. When the app finally came out the price that was promised of 60 something dollars was instead showing 120 something dollars and the issue was brought to the attention of the moderators via discord. Everybody was assured that if you went ahead and paid the $120 price you would be reimbursed for the overcharge. This was back in October 2022. I have tried to contact customer service multiple times via email discord and Twitter I was promised the issue was getting taken care of. They would let me know I never get a response after that. I have yet to receive my reimbursement or even get an email stating that they are aware of my issue. I was really excited about this bank and I know some people say it’s only $60. But that’s the point.

Signed up before release and signed up to receive a promotional card with a unique color / design. Card shipped and was not the unique version I had preordered. Support told me there’s nothing they can do and they aren’t focused on resolving that issue at the moment. Mana points seem like a cool perk but honestly the accumulation is slower than other similar debit card services and doesn’t provide a lot of value. Seems a little cash grabby. Pro perks are a decent value but it doesn’t seem like this company has it all together yet. Card declines unless you run it as credit, really slow transfer time for a bank. SoFi can move my money in 24 hours but it takes 5-7 days for Mana to receive a deposit. Not enough partnered games at this point to recommend, but it was a cool concept to explore.

Overall I would avoid relying on this as a means of primary banking unless you are spending a lot of money on games.

Please note, the current card you own, has the similar points value as the unlimited card. This was the alternative solution the support team shared with you until a permanent solution of your card replacement is resolved.

As for the declines you experienced, have you tried using your Apple/Google Wallet as an alternative? It is possible the card is defective. We can certainly look into this.

Regarding the ACH transfers and length of time for clearance...this is certainly a major priority we will be introducing to have funds available in your Mana account immediately.

It frustrates me beyond words that the biggest banks don’t do anything to attempt to reward us. Yeah, sure if you apply for their credit cards maybe you can earn some miles or some cash back, and maybe you’ll get $100 value out of it in a year if you’re an avid spender. I view Mana as the natural evolution of personal finance: banks tailored to their customers. What do gamers want? SOMETHING… ANYTHING to reward us for spending on our lifestyle. The app had a rocky start when I joined last October, but with how much progress has been made, I officially moved my direct deposit over from Chase to Mana this past month. 🥹 keep it up guys!!!!
