Description

Color the MiniMand and Mandelbrot set as you like & experiment with additional exponents. MandArt is 2 - now try 3 or 5 or 7 or 12 or more.

MandArt is the premiere app for discovering and creating unique, custom art using the Mandelbrot Set. The Mandelbrot Set provides a uniquely complex, never-repeating space with a truly infinite number of fascinating landscapes. MandArt allows you to search this massive space, zooming in and out of interesting areas. Once you find an area (Tab 1), color the space with up to 20 different colors in the sequence you like (Tab 2). Then tune your art, by changing which color should start the progression and more (Tab 3). It's meant for printed art, and provides some guidance on which colors are likely to "print true". When you find something special, we'd love to see it - search for GitHub MandArt-Discoveries - and share your MandArt with others!

Fun app to explore the Mandelbrot landscape

App allows drag & drop and clicking or - to zoom in and out. Interesting areas can be found where the black areas come together. By default, it uses 10,000 iterations - may run a bit slow on older macs, but plenty fast on a newish MacBook Air. Be careful not to rename a file while it's active - Swift document apps don't Save As, they just overwrite. App enables lots of coloring options, as well as rotating the landscape to get the colors and art you like. Pretty fun!

This is my app and Ilike it

This is my app, with a lot of help, and I'm looking forward to actually getting a picture or two that I can hang on my office wall. Since the printed picture won't look exactly like what I see on my screen, that will be a bit of an adventure. First, I have to find an interestinf area in the virtually infinite space, then I will have to color it. Since I'm an engineer, not an artist, That will be a real challenge.
