Mandelbrot Image Generator 4+

The mandelbrot applications that I ran on my Mac II (Apple's first color macintosh) had a better user interface than this application. I've played with other Mandelbrot applications on various macs since then, and they are all more pleasant to use than this one. Rendering seems slow because there is absolutely no feedback while rendering is happening. And because of the clumsy interface, every attempt to zoom in on a region that I wanted to explore was frustrating.

very cool program, allows you to create some amazing images. only problem is its a bit frustrating to use… there is only one function, all you can do is "draw" so you dont have much control over how the image evolves, besides zooming in and out (which takes a long time itself). they need a "zoom extends" button so you can quickly zoom all the way out or all the way in. or at least a zoomx10 button. also the way you "draw" is a little buggy, you select an area but you can't even be sure which area your selecting because it doesnt show you on screen, you have to wait until it regenerates to see what you've got. But if you've got some time to play around with it, you can make some REALLY cool images. its not a quick thing you, you need some patience.
Also it would be great if there was a users manual or some step by step on how to generate some of the sample images.. you know just to get you started.

This is an excellent starting app for Mandelbrot, but it does have a way to go. If you are "NOT" a patient person or are highly demanding and "NOT" the type of person to read the manual, then this is not the app for you. However if you enjoy fundamental Mandelbrot manipulations and are patient thinking person and understand what the developer is trying to do, then I think you might enjoy working with this app. To the developer: Please do not be discouraged by the low reviews or give up improving this app into what will someday be a great Mandelbrot app, it has a lot of potential.
