Open any chess PGN and start analyzing chessbase instantly. Modern interface with multi-line Stockfish, variations, and annotations - fully offline without an account.
Manifest Chess Lite is a fast, private PGN reader for Mac. Double-click any .pgn file and the game is on the board instantly for you to edit and analyze. No account, no setup, and nothing ever leaves your computer.
It is built for reading, studying and annotating chess games, from a single game to a database of tens of thousands.
OPEN ANYTHING, INSTANTLY
- Open .pgn files from Finder, or preview them with Quick Look by pressing Space.
- Large databases stay quick: tens of thousands of games load and scroll smoothly.
- Step through moves, variations and comments with the keyboard or the board.
BUILT-IN ENGINE
- Stockfish is included. Turn on analysis and see up to five engine lines at once.
- Nothing to install and nothing to configure. The engine runs entirely on your Mac.
FIND THE GAME YOU WANT
- Search by player, and filter by rating, year, color or result.
- Sort the list and jump straight to the game you had in mind.
ANNOTATE, AND KEEP YOUR FILE YOURS
- Add comments, variations and symbols such as !! and !?, plus arrows and highlights on the board.
- Create a new game, start one from a FEN position, and reorder or delete games.
- Your comments, variations and symbols are saved back into your own PGN, so your work stays with the file.
MAKE IT YOURS
- Light or dark theme, your board colors, your pieces, your sounds.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- Fully offline. No account, no tracking, and no network access at all.
- Sandboxed, and it only ever touches the files you open.
