Just Use Logitech Camera App

I bought this because I thought it would provide a more seamless way to setup my Logitech 920 for use with my Zoom Classes. I thought that anything I could do to shave time off the setup would be great. While you can control lighting fairly well, the zoom, pan, and tilt settings on the App pretty much do nothing for this camera. The zoom it achieves is pitiful compared to what the Free Logitech Camera App gives you.I was also under the impression that the app would automactically configure itself at startup, but you have to manually select a profile, which takes about as much time as opening the Logitech Camera App, which does seem to remember the settings used in the previous load. The Logitech App also resets the camera really quick. which can be helpful.So, this was pretty much a waste of money. If they release an update that supports zoom a little better on the 920 I will give it another go.

I am a musician/songwriter who is accustomed to performing live 2-4 times weekly, With this COVID-19 challenge, performing live is not an option. I knew I would have to start streaming eventually but, this kicked the learning curve up a few notches. I planned on using 2 Logitech 9000s, which aren’t the newest, but good enough. I have a MacBook Pro running High Sierra and a Mini Mac running Mohave. When I hooked up these 2 cameras to OBS, even side by side, they didn’t have the same picture qualities no matter what the settings. I searched the web for a work around. Manual Camera did not come up in my searches. The other options that did come up had less than stellar reviews, around 50%. After reading the reviews for Manual Camera I contacted Terry with a question about controlling multiple cameras. Terry got back to my email in about an hour with the exact work around, which is just dublicating the software as many times as you have cameras. Easy! If my cameras were the latest or greatest more options would be available to adjust. That’s not needed in my case. Some people may complain about paying for an app…hey, I can do a lot of things but, designing software is not one of them. Thank you Terry for your creative, persistent, and resilient self!

I've been teaching online due to quaratine and I noticed my built in camera wasn't great quality so I ordered another one. Had good quality except for the coloration so I wanted to edit things a bit so students could see me better. After looking through several apps I found this one. At first it was buggy and wouldn't load for the webcam I bought so I reached out to Terry for help. I was surprised by how quickly they responded and asked what was the issue. I've been teaching online due to quaratine and I noticed my built in camera wasn't great quality so I ordered another one. Had good quality except for the coloration so I wanted to edit things a bit so students could see me better. After looking through several apps I found this one. My last app failed after Catalina and Zoom updates and there was no response from the developers. I am sticking with Manual Camera as I believe it has a devoted developer who appreciates users needs. I would love to be able to zoom with my built in cameras. Hope you can solve that one.
