This app is neat if you are looking to compare insurance providers. You can shop for any type of insurance under the shop tab. You can even set reminders to shop in the future. It also rates different companies with a report card like grading scale. This allows you to visually see and compare where your current provider falls into line under different categories such as customer satisfaction, price, etc. It has a section that keeps all your personal current insurance information all in one place. Even down to what you pay per term. It’s kind of like a diary to track you insurance details. If that wasn’t enough, you get to earn tokens in the form of marbles, that turn into some form of gift card! What a bonus!

Makes your fight for pithy $1 rewards. Don’t do it.

I’ve been with Marble Insurance since their early days when they were paying out quite a lot, in exchange for my data. I’ve stuck with them, even after they drastically reduced the incentives, essentially selling them access to all my personal and insurance data for $1/entire policy. That’s dirt cheap. And yet I stick with them because they’ve delivered on their promised (but pithy) rewards. This month, I attempted to upload my policies for 2 properties from 2 different providers. For one of the providers, I already have a policy on record with Marble for a third property. They didn’t bother to read that the address was for a different property and marked it as a duplicate. They are now refusing to pay me A WHOLE DOLLAR worth of points, and claiming that I’m trying to claim a dollar I’ve already been awarded, all because they couldn’t give the attention to detail to keep straight which policy they accidentally marked as duplicate. I’ve spent over a half hour and 4 emails trying to fight for this dollar-before realizing how ridiculous this is. Way more than a dollar’s worth of my time. I’m done. They’re making me feel like I’m the one who can’t keep track of my own properties and policies. Marble: you owed me $2, only gave me $1. You can’t keep straight which property that $1 is owed for, but even if you are right and I am wrong - I’m still owed a dollar. The information I’m selling you is worth way more than $1. Now I am deleting my account.

An app that meets a necessary function!

The Marbles app fulfills something unique in the app space. As someone who is very much type A about organization, this app is s great way to organize my growing list of insurance policies. I am able to keep a copy of my renter’s, car, life, and disability insurance all in one spot. I was also able to use their in-app functions to shop around for competitive rates and realized that I may need to swap providers in the near future. And the rewards system is definitely the cherry on top! I look forward to the future updates when they include other types of insurance policies that they seamlessly incorporate into the app. Until then, it is a manual upload system for certain policies like disability insurance.
