Exactly what I’ve been looking for!

I have tried several book tracking apps (Goodreads, Bookly, and a bunch that I downloaded and deleted almost immediately) and this is the only one I’ve found that works exactly the way I want it to. Especially being able to retroactively add start and finish dates - I don’t know why this feature is so hard to find! I love the recommendations, the ease of adding things, and the layout. I just added all 10 books I’ve read so far this year, plus my massive TBR list, PLUS a few of the app’s suggested books, in about 15 mins with zero frustration. The only hiccup I’ve seen is there are a few books I couldn’t find (mostly anticipated releases) and I can’t see how to add them manually for my ‘want to read’ list, but I know it’s a newer app so I’m sure this will be rectified soon, or I’m quite possibly just not looking in the right place. Otherwise, I cannot give enough praise. Love love love this app!!

Best Book Tracking Capabilities

I really like a lot of things about this app! I think the top features that differentiates Margins is they allow you track how you’re reading a book (audio vs e book vs physical book), and the biggest selling point for me was that it counts your rereads towards your reading goal for the year. I like that you can customize your book cover for your display too. I haven’t used the book timer capabilities yet but the app has a lot of great things going for it! My only drawbacks are the lack of social functions so far. Granted I know you can add friends but there isn’t much of a feed on that like many of the other apps. It also doesn’t have the libraries like a Goodreads for example. I went to transfer my TBRs and I’m missing a good 10 books because the libraries are not fully at the same levels. Even with the cons I still think this app is my favorite of the book tracking apps!

I have a better plan for tracking what I read now!

I used to write down every book I read when I was a child. But I ran into issues, like losing the paper I put the list on, and even the journal I tried using once. So I quit. I just know that I always have a book to read. I can see trying it again without the frustration of my disorganization now that I have this app: it allows me to track my reading, find cool new books to read no matter what mood I’m in at the time, record who shared a specific book with me, and even set a timer for my reading! (Most people might want to time how long they read to set a goal for time… I’d probably more likely use it for limiting the time I read…) This app has made me think again about book tracking, and makes me nostalgic for that time when it was gratifying to look back and recount the stories and how I felt while reading them.
