Description

URL Linker (formerly Markdown Linker) is a Safari App Extension that helps you to copy website's URL with your favorite format.

You can define custom copy format (e.g. markdown link format, your company's wiki link syntax, etc.) in this app, which can be quickly used from context menu of Safari.

What’s New

Version 1.1

Totally redesigned application UI and functionalities.
From this version, you can add your favorite copy format from the app. Just open /Applications/URL Linker.app and try it!

By default, the app has a markdown style configuration. So if you have been using this app from previous version, you can continue to use same functionality without additional configuration.

Works as Described

Save time by copying URLs in markdown format. Great for compiling links in Trello or other web apps that use markdown formatting.

Making the Simple, Difficult

This extension would be a great example of "malicious compliance" — it does all the wrong things incredibly well. KISS, man. It's a feature, not an app, but it's a feature people want. You're an extension, so just do it.

There are a half-dozen extensions for Chrome and Firefox that just do what they say — copy the title with the URL — in plain text, with no problems. Perfect! URL Linker doesnt' do that. #Fail

A switch for multiple formats, like markdown vs RTF or whatever, would be great. But there isn't one (at least not in Sonoma). And what is there does not work. #Fail

Does not play well with Ventura

Adding a format (HTML link with title) or changing the order of the two installed formats (to put them in alphabetical order) makes a mess of the right-click menu, with several added lines that say "Text." Uninstalling leaves the extension still in the Safari extensions menu. I had to restart to make it disappear.

It'd be wonderful if this extension worked though.
