MasterDex - complete pokedex 4+

I got this app for a one off thing I was doing with my friends, but I actually found myself really enjoying the app and how user friendly it was, with a wide wealth of information. As I was enjoying the “make a team” feature, as I go to make a third theoretical team, it informed me that was a “pro only” item. I expect that this is going to be one of those scummy “$8-$10 a month subscription service” nonsense that so many apps seem so eager to incorporate nowadays, asking you to pay continuously for an app that is not at all worth it. Imagine my surprise when I learned the pro upgrade was just a flat purchase of $5. No subscription, no nonsense, just a flat, small fee. It was at that moment, filled with absolute respect for these developers for taking the high road and choosing to put out a quality product, without succumbing to the temptation of the scummy business practices that seem to act as the new meta for apps nowadays, that I immediately paid for the subscription, not just because I wanted the benefits it offered, but because I also wanted to support these developers that had so quickly earned my respect.
Fantastic work, I look forward to using this for many months to come.

Downloaded the app, spent a few minutes with it and fell in love. I’ve tried many pokedex apps in the past (Dexter, PokeLab, RotoGo to name a few) and although they’re great in their own way - Theres something about this one that i really like.

The UI is fluid and aesthetically pleasing. The information is compact yet easily accessible if you want to expand more info. This also supports the latest generation - Scarlet & Violet - which other Dex apps have not updated yet. It also provides the right balance between informative content, aesthetics and presentation without feeling like its doing trying too hard and sacrificing performance - an issue that i unfortunately had with RotoGo.

What got me to drop the $3 was the fact that its a one time purchase and not a SUBSCRIPTION. It also automatically lets users enjoy the PRO version for 7 days to try out the features without having to manually request or sign up for it.

When using team builder, I cannot flip the switch to show my mons are shiny. This is minor, but would be nice to have working. The toggle has never worked for me when I click it (with internet, both on and off wifi, and after restarting my device and reinstalling the app).

Another feature, that I would die for, is the ability to filter the pokédex by mons available per game. Each game has its own selection of pokémon available in the games, and it would be helpful to improve on those filters. For example, you can filter by the sinnoh region, but diamond and pearl have different pokemon available than in brilliant diamond and shinning pearl. If there is a way to already do this, I apologize. However, I do believe it is a feature yet to be added. edit: (correction, it’s the national dex for each game that is unavailable)

Thanks for such an amazing app, and thank you for making it accessible and not tying a subscription into it! I upgraded to pro the moment I realized the price was realistic. You guys are awesome 😄
