Mela is a simple, elegant and modern recipe manager that syncs with iCloud.

Quickly save a recipe while browsing: If Mela detects a recipe on the currently viewed page, it will be displayed in Mela's native recipe viewer*, on the same screen. Want to add or view a recipe from outside of Mela? No problem, just use Mela's sharing extension.

Subscribe to your favorite recipe blogs to view all the recipes in Mela's native recipe viewer*.

Scan a recipe from a book: With the help of text recognition, you can just add it to your personal collection and view it in Mela's native recipe viewer, as any other recipe.

Recipes can be organized in categories, marked as “Favorite” or as “Want to Cook”.

The cook mode makes it easy to follow all steps while cooking, displayed using a larger font to make sure everything stays readable even when you're not right in front of your device.

Mela uses the to manage your grocery list. This has the advantage that you’re always able to access your grocery list on all your devices even if Mela is not installed on a specific device.

Of course, Mela supports printing in case there’s a recipe you want to have on paper or save as PDF.

If enabled (default), Mela will sync these items with iCloud:
- Recipes
- Browser bookmarks
- Subscription list (feeds)
Not synced:
- Feed recipe entries
- Browser history
Groceries are always stored in

* Extracting recipes only works for websites that support this, most of them do.

Wow! This is incredibly awesome!

For the past ten or so years I have been a Paprika user and that app has grown old and stale over time. I saw this app and I was blown away by the sheer beauty and simplicity of it. But I was very concerned about how I would get my Paprika recipes (all 343 of them) into this app, and then found out you guys support importing them!! I purchased your app, imported my recipes and was absolutely BLOWN AWAY! Whoever did the UI/UX for your app deserves a big pat on the back. This is a beautifully designed app, with great features, and I love how the grocery list syncs into Reminders. Everytime I look through the app and explore it, I am thrilled by all that it can do, and how it does it. This is a masterpiece that anyone who needs to keep their recipes organized should buy right now! As a product designer for Ford Motor Company, I think the design and UX of this app are both top notch. Great job! Can't wait to do some cookin' with Mela!

what I've been looking for forever

this app is just that good - not only is it a recipe storehouse, it's also a dynamic scanning engine.

you can use your phone to scan something (even your screen!) to import recipes into the app.

I have a lot of work ahead of me to consolidate all the sources of my recipes, but i will be super excited when that is done.

I just bought Mela and am blown away by how well the import engine works. I tried importing recipes from a variety of different sites and blogs and they all imported flawlessly. Truly amazing!

The UI is fantastic. Simple, clean, elegant and very intuitive. So why not 5 stars? Mela, like most recipe managers, is missing a critical feature in my opinion: the ability to calculate nutritional information for a recipe. Mela will download nutritional info if posted on the recipe, but there is no way to recalculate if you modify ingredients, nor can you calculate nutritional info for your own recipes.

There are numerous online nutritional databases that Mela could access. I'd even be content with the ability to enter my own nutritional information for the ingredients I use. I'd gladly pay 5x more for a "Pro" version of Mela that included this feature. As an athlete who tracks his nutrition, this is a hugely important feature to me and is much more important and useful than meal planning or grocery lists.
