  • Terrific update

    BillyJoel1

I have used the original version for the iPad for a couple years. This update of Mellel Mobile was extremely helpful. I am using it frequently and find the improvements worth the price of admission. Please keep up the good work and the additional updates. Thanks for a great product for writing courses and research writing. Each update is a usable improvement. This is my go to for writing and has been since its beginning. BUY THIS IF YOU WANT A GREAT RESEARCH APP FOR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO COMMUNICATE.

  • prohibits you from reading its own help file!

iPad has wonderful BUILT-IN dictionaries that any app can access. You select a word, and the pop-up menu has a “lookup” function. Except not in Mellel. it’s so annoying when professional apps like this don’t implement basic system features. But what is MUCH WORSE is that the free version refuses to allow you to view its own help file! Unbelievable! I love the freemium model that lets us try out an app before buying it. The free version is limited to 5 pages, and that is fine. But how can I learn the app when the free version PROHIBITS me from just reading the 32-page help file!At least make the help file read-only so I can read it! (If there is no such setting as read-only, please add it, I think all text editing apps should have that capability.)For anyone who does want to try and learn about this app before buying it, you can print the help file, use 2-finger spread on the thumbnails in the print dialogue to convert it to a pdf, then click the “box with an up arrow” to export the pdf to Files or another app.

  • Terrific Update for All Types of Writing

I have attempted to utilize a number of different writing platforms (nearly every popular option) for professional and academic needs. Mellel hits the sweet spot–full featured to cover all of your writing needs yet creating space for you to get words on the page. It handles R to L text better than any other platform, without a doubt. Best of all, it has become even more user friendly with this update.

  • Remembering my excitement about Mellel in early Mac OSX days

I'm still experimenting, but so far this is feeling like the revelation that Mellel was for me back when I first wrote my dissertation in the early to mid aughts. I've been looking for a comfortable way to get back off the Microsoft train after a 15-year ride. Having an affordable iPad version with track changes and comments that can be exported to Word for others is compelling.

  • A marvel

I have Mellel on my iMac but now I am away from home and working in my iPad. This version of Mellel is a marvel. While other IOS text editors are cluttered in distracting ways, mobile Mellel gives the writer distraction-free environment but without giving up the power to be productive. In particular I value Mellel’s outlining features because I am more productive when I work from an outline.
