Inaccurate and they don’t care

It’s absolutely terrible that this company doesn’t even try to figure out what’s going on, they just respond to feedback with scripted responses. The worst part is that some DSP’s like mine take this stuff seriously and it affects my rating and scheduling as well as bonuses. At first I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out what it was that I was doing wrong. When they respond, they act as if their program is flawless and incapable of making mistakes and instead say that it’s something to do with the telematics device in the van which is the DSP’s problem not theirs. I recommend that you install a camera with a time stamp facing the phone so that there is proof that what they say is happening isn’t happening. It wasn’t until I did this that I was finally able to verify that a lot of these hits aren’t real. They need to start taking responsibility for glitches in their software because people are having to pay for it. Some of us loose out on opportunity to make more money because of this. If there is a law suit I’m all in! It’s not fair to be punished for something that isn’t happening. I’m only referring to those instances where the hits aren’t legitimate. If the phone is being touched or driving is actually erratic then by all means yes! But if it’s not... then it’s not right.

Trash doesn’t even come close to describing this app

The most nonsense app in existence. Gives you zero feedback as to what you’re doing wrong, so there’s no means to actually improve on your score and what you’re “doing wrong”. Theres zero warning or sounds to give you any sort of heads up that you’re breaking one of the rules, so there’s absolutely zero adjustment period to trying and understand the app anf what it excepts. It’s just a hope and a prayer that while you’re driving for hours on end that you’re following the most vague and mystical rules that are ementor. There’s no place you can read up on what quantifies as “hard acceleration” and it gives zero regard for other drivers on the road. If you’re pulling out of a driveway on a hill and cannot see any on coming traffic, welp just keep on accelerating at snail speed, so your score isn’t hurt. And just hope and pray the guy YOU just pulled out in front of slows down or passes you. Because according to this trash app, that’s good driving, because you didn’t accelerate too quickly. 👍🏼 oh and if some thing jumps out in front of you, definitely don’t instantly break, because you’re a bad breaker then.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your Mentor experience. We applaud your focus on achieving and maintaining a “Very Low Risk” FICO ® Safe Driving Score! A “Very Low Risk” score IS possible; however, it is not just the absence of negative events. A “Very Low Risk” score also depends upon a driver executing smooth maneuvers, such as Smooth Start, Smooth Stop, and Smooth Turn. These are G-force-based measurements which are compared against safe threshold levels to determine a smooth maneuver. And, because the score is a rolling 7-day average, you will need to be consistent through the week. We recommend focusing on your trend of “Low Risk/Very Low Risk” driving and strive for continual improvement vs. concentrating on each negative event recorded by Mentor.

I’m sure nothing will change, but why not?

I’ve been a driver for 8 months now. I can attest this app doesn’t actually make you drive safe. It, to its core, is a beleaguering mess almost expressly meant unfairly to rob you of any benefits. (The big company named after the river in Brazil) should drop this. The scoring system is haggard beyond believe. There are times where in a full days work I was tacked with a whooping 13 infractions (no speeding) and received 3 stars, while one day I got just 4 (again no speeding) and was slammed with a 1 star rating (just like all your the reviews for this app). This company is desperately asking for a lawsuit, you are toying with peoples jobs and this is serious. Clearly Mentor are either oblivious, malicious, or apathetic. I think it’s a fantastic idea to have the CEO of mentor try and complete a route and end up without any infractions, and see how it turns out. Alas, writing this was a huge waste of time (mainly venting) I expect nothing to change and for this company to completely step all over driver’s necks for the foreseeable future. I recommend working for a competitor, a shame because I happened to actually kind of like this job, oh well. Good day.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your Mentor experience. While the FICO® Safe Driving Score may be difficult to decipher at times, rest assured there is extremely sound methodology underlying its design, which was developed in partnership with industry analytics leader FICO®. (Note: This has nothing to do with your FICO® Credit Score – same company, different division). eDriving’s validation study which used data from the 2nd Strategic Highway Research Program with over 3,500 participants and nearly 32 million miles of driving data,* confirmed that drivers with FICO® Safe Driving Scores below 710 have a higher crash involvement rate than drivers with higher scores (those above 710). Through 2020, over 240,000 drivers had used Mentor over 1.5 billion miles driven and analysis showed that the riskiest drivers improved their FICO® Safe Driving Scores by 32% over 6 months and 38% over 15 months. So, keep your focus on the goal and keep working to improve! eDriving is behind you every mile or kilometer driven! (*Dataset 10.15787/VTT1/IEKRD3)
