MenuDate 4+

I'd been using what used to be called MyMenuDate for several years and was sorry when the upgrade to Catalina meant I couldn't use the 32-bit version of the app any longer.

MenuDate restores this very helpful app to my arsenal. Apple's menubar clock is severely lacking in customizability in terms of both appearance and functionality. I work on projects that commonly use week of year (WOY) and day of year (DOY) for timekeeping; MenuDate allows me to include as many metrics for time as I can think of. With MenuDate I can see day of week, date, WOY and DOY in the color and font of my choice. The ability to show these in different formats (e.g., Wed vs. Wednesday, am vs. AM, leading zeros or not) makes it easy to customize to one's liking (and available menubar space). I also use the monthly calendar for quick date look-ups with surprising regularity. And it can be set to load automatically on startup.

I don' t make regular use of the timer or moon phase functions, but they do work as advertised and you can turn them off if you don't want them.

If you have any need or desire for unconventional time formats, or just want to make the appearance of your menubar clock a little more personal, I can't recommend MenuDate highly enough.

Simple but effective. I like the ability to change the colors and fonts. Easy to use. I'm able to set the date and time formatted as I want them. Hourly chime is a fun option!
