3D Gaussian Splats: a brand-new technique to capture real-world scenes in all their richness. If you haven't heard of them, that's because they're still a hot topic of research in 3D graphics, evolving by leaps and bounds by the month. If you have heard of them, you might have some idea of why it's so incredible to view them in full stereo, to look around and immerse yourself in a 3DGS scene. Either way, whether you have your own splats you'd like to explore or just want to get a taste of what it's all about via MetalSplatter's built-in gallery, get ready for a unique experience that lets you use your Vision Pro in a dramatic new way!
* Load your own splats in PLY, SPZ, or .splat format
* Or, select splats in the built-in gallery
* Calibrate by setting the scale, 'up' direction, and tweaking the tilt. Save your calibration and viewpoint for each model.
* Pinch with both hands simultaneously to move yourself around and rotate the model
* View in stereo, as AR embedded in your world, with full spherical harmonics (SH3)
The core rendering capabilities of MetalSplatter are available as a free open-source library for Apple platforms, based on the Metal graphics API available at https://github.com/scier/MetalSplatter

Fantastic for reliving your splats A scale and reposition tool would be helpful, but as it is, it’s an excellent window into what’s coming.

Thank you Campbell! Glad you're enjoying it, your review made my day. You'll be glad to know that today's update adds a rescale tool (which is rather fun to play with), and while you still use the same two-pinch gesture to reposition, you can now save that position (and scale and orientation) as the model's default.
Great for viewing 3D models by Sharp
FuuFin
Or any ply 3dgs models
Fixes for a few visual glitches
Support for ml-sharp PLYs
