A rower‘s metronome. Use sound and graphics to coach rowing cadence.

• Have a difficult time teaching the concept of ratio?
• Used the term “3:1 ratio” but your rowers just don't get it?
• Need to reduce check in your boat?

Set a stroke rate — Choose a ratio — Hit Start.

Watch the graphic and listen to the sounds. (A continuous tone on the drive, short beeps on the recovery.) In minutes your crew will be rowing along to the metronome with perfect ratio.

Use it on an erg, from the launch or even in the coxswain’s seat.

Next step: quick catches! Good luck!

Metrownome: The rowing metronome.

Nicely basic

This was a wonderful app to use having a very simple layout and graphic. Just a profile stick figure makes it easy to see just what to do, when. The tone was unobtrusive and easy to follow. My only reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars is it seems to only allow even stroke rates, but that’s minor (and perhaps I missed an option).

Just what I wanted!

I wanted to be able to watch Netflix on my iPad while I rowed but I also like watching somebody to help keep my stroke rate consistent. The little stick figure reminds me to use a good stroke!

I’d love if you could set up a playlist to auto change the rate based on distance or time but it’s still great!

Simple and to the point. When rowing you need to focus on two things: shape and rhythm. The little stick person in the app animation just guides you to do that efficiently and without charging a subscription. Wishlist: allow to program changes in stokes per minute to do sprints/varied workouts.
