I’ve been using this app for a few years and leaving a review now because I was just upgraded my iPhone and was really worried about the transfer of 2FA Authentication data in this app.The App seamlessly migrated my information! What a great experience!Day-day the app has always worked, never caused me to not be able to access any of my accounts.
It’s important to remember when you download this app that if you SWITCH PHONES, you will need to re-sign in on your Authenticator app before you try and sign into anywhere else. ALSO if you have an account attached to an Organization, you may need to call your organizations IT department so they can reset and recalibrate your Authenticator to avoid account fraud.
I had to call my company IT department because when I was setting this up, it didn’t set up properly on my new phone. and even when I was on the phone with IT I clicked sign into my company account and it made me sign in with the password and my IT agent was like that definitely is the wrong step. You need to go to add account and then it worked. Needless to say, this is not clear how to set up a new device without calling IT and going through clicking the wrong button.
My job makes us use this app. Up until a couple weeks ago it worked fine. Now I never receive the notifications to approve/deny a request. I have to open the app and go into the menu and hit “check for notifications” before it will pop up. That is incredibly inconvenient. Definitely not user friendly. I have notifications allowed for this app so I don’t know what the issue is. Please fix this issue. I was not able to report an issue through the app because the link doesn’t work.
Recently my account is under attack as always, but my auth keep sending me notifications every minute, it was never like this before, when i check the logs, i can see who is trying from which country, or it s a stuck login attempt from my devices. To me it s a 100% system design defect and despite all the complaints online Microsoft is not solving it and putting all of ours accounts under security vulnerabilities.
If you’re in the App authenticating to MS it will ask you to authenticate using the app. It’s a catch-22. You can’t log in to the Authenticator app for MS because you’re not logged in to the Authenticator app!!!Painfully annoying. It then asks you to confirm via email or phone number but the messages don’t seem to get sent consistently. Took about 15 minutes to get logged in after upgrading my phone. Please fix.
