Description
Now playing chords. Do this only if you think it sounds good. Otherwise dissect it (remove checkmark for chords)
With the MidiAndMusicXml Player you can select which tracks to be played. The tempo may also be changed, the tune may be transposed and tracks can change panorama from left to right. Draw the MIDI-file or MusicXML-file into the window or use the open-dialog.
It is made for musical training. Singing and playing. But you may use it for playing only.

Basic MIDI file player
Ugly UI and a little buggy, but it’s free and gets the job done. Was able to play my old MIDI files on my system with MacOS Sierra. You can even swap out instruments for other instruments. Together with Soundflower and Quicktime player, I used this to convert my MIDI files to m4a files. Desired Improvements: Clean up the UI, fix bugs, add ability to export a MIDI track to another format (mp3, wav, etc) and batch export. Nice free program, thanks!

Like the simplicity.
That’s exactly what I was looking for -
Does play midi files - But could be MUCH more helpful -
The loop funtion is just what i needed - But seems to pause at start of loop - hard to achieve a proper drum loop - so, cannot use.
With a little fixing - maybe a basic graphical interface - this program is on its way to possibly being a very valuable desktop staple
