It's 1920's Norway, and you play as Ruth, a young woman who lives alone on a remote farm at the end of a faraway fjord. You take care of your cows and make delicious dairy products that your friend sells in the closest town. But life is hard and work is tough, and Ruth ponders: Is this really the life I want? It's not easier when mysterious things start happening to you and your cows.

And then a huge, mysterious ship descends from the skies, turning Ruth's life upside-down.

Original and excellent

Yes it’s got some hiccups here and there, but considering ONE guy did the whole thing, languages and all, it’s beyond impressive. The nitpicky reviewers should be ashamed of themselves; they’re putting big money game studio expectations on a one man band. I loved it, and thought the price was generous.

If the critics have a better game that they made by themselves, I’d love to see it. Since they don’t, I wish they’d think for a minute about what went into this, and perhaps realize that the creator had no financial incentive whatsoever to do all that work that they so readily dump on. Indie efforts like this should be lauded for the 99% that’s great, not berated for everything less than perfect.

Impressive Rhymes in Multi-Languages

I love classic point-and-clicks by LucasArts and Sierra. This game very much reminded me and gave me that feel of old King’s Quest games, but especially Loom.

It is shorter than most adventures, but it is sophisticated. I am fluent in both French and English and found the translation of the dialogues impressively accurate while maintaining rhyme, and still giving the necessary hints to solve problems. These are for sure not “just translated.” A lot of thought went into it. I applaud the creator for this.

The story is sweet, and the puzzles not over the top difficult. It’s a friendly point-and-click for newbies.

Really not very good, sadly

I don‘t have a problem in general how short it is. Only that most of the time is spent running around. But there are more problems. First, navigation is absolutely horrible. You never know where you can go and where not. I spent a lot of time in the beginning because of this and I just could not find the salt. Second, while the idea of the rhymes is novel, most of them are so, SO bad, like written by 7 year olds or autotranslated from another language. The artstyle is often very crude as well. I am a big fan of point and click adventures and played all the classics. Some of them multiple times. I really wanted to like it, but honestly I am happy to have finished it and very likely won‘t touch it ever again.
