Motherlode if it had more story elements and humor

I just found this earlier today and had to give it a go. I completely forgot about Motherlode, which was one of my most favorite web games ever. There isn’t much setting the two apart honestly, other than you don’t have a mining vehicle in this one. The jet pack is tricky to control, I regularly waste a good amount of fuel trying to fly into a tunnel I dug in the upper reaches of a large chamber or intersecting with a deep vertical shaft. There are creatures that will attack you, and without spoiling too much at all: boss battles to stumble across at select plot points. Combat is not so bad, following the rules of a twin stick shooter, left half of screen is movement/jet pack controls and the right half of your screen controls your aiming and firing of whatever weapon you have. Also has a secondary jump function when tapped instead of pressing and holding a direction. Upgrades are acquired by refining the raw ore and crystal you dig up from below into different ingots and cut gems. There are a multitude of upgrades available, each one crafted unlocking the next recipe in the sequence. Overall I love this game, despite the unwieldy controls. Definitely worth a try if you also were a fan of the old flash game Motherlode or just enjoy digging for minerals to continuously improve your equipment and mining ability

Truly one of the best single player mobile games.

I remember playing this when I was a kid on my kindle years ago, and I just remembered it recently. I set out to find it. Returning to this game really made me se how good it was compared to most other mobile games. The story is not bad, but is also nothing to write home about. The game has voice acting unlike most others, which is nice. The visuals and soundtrack are amazingly crafted, and the gameplay is very rewarding. The only con is the controls, which can be annoying at times, but do not terribly dampen the experience. The soundtrack is outstanding, outdoing even triple A games. I encourage everyone to at least try this game. It is truly one of the best mobile games out there.

Loved this game!

I had a long 12 hour flight from US to Japan and needed some entertainment. This game made the flight seems so fast. I played almost 10 hours straight just wondering around the mines and finding new things. One questions tho and warning **spoilers ahead**! I don’t want to ruin the end of the story so I will try not to but after beating the final creature near the bottom, my game crashes! 😩 or it does something like crashing. Don’t get me wrong I loved this game and will continue playing but the story is so good that I need to know what is suppose to happen when the statue opens its mouth?
